Rahu is a planet and treated like a demi god in hinduism. Rahu and Kethu are two conflicting planets which contradict desire and will, indians normally dont pray to Rahu but give some offering to reduce the karma as it is believed it cant be negated.

The ritual was arranged by the abbot for her and her team. Surely all this was already approved by the abbot so why are you so critical?
