This is the thirteenth episode of my around the world cycle trip to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital, who help hundreds of children everyday with varying needs. Down below you can find various links to my social media accounts and also my GPS tracker so you can follow me live as I cycle around the world :)
In this video, I am cycling through the desert in Uzbekistan. This was a tough segment with little civilisation in-between. I was very happy to have completed it.
Thank you so much for all of your support :)

Hi Jacob, just discovered your stream and spent the day watching all your videos - great content. Have you done a gear/bike list yet? I haven't seen anything or any links. I understand that you are focussed on the journey but if you have time, it would be great to see this and your thoughts on how your gear met your expectations? Also, are you using an e-sim or buying sim cards at each country? I see from your GPS tracker that you are currently in China, I look forward to seeing how the Pamir Highway?? went once you upload them. Good luck.

Hello 🙂 Ah I'm really happy you enjoyed watching my videos 😀 I haven't done a gear list yet and that's a really good idea! My plan is to do some advice videos in the coming months when I get to more populated parts of China and South East Asia, where I can shorten my distances some days and where I plan to have time off! So I'll do a gear list video and go over my kit then 🙂 Mostly I have used esims as I have travelled through convenience, rather than physical ones as I only have one sim slot and often get verification codes from the bank to my UK SIM. I had to buy a physical SIM in China to use most of their services though! Thank you, the Pamir highway was definitely an interesting stretch 🙂 I hope you have a great day!!

@@Geocycling1993 That would be great.... I forgot to say before that I'm impressed by your persistence in cycle the full route rather than accepting lifts. Kudos to you.

@a.need.to.travel Thank you 😀 it was really important to me when I set off, to cycle everything I possibly could as it feels amazing to get through the tough bits without giving up 😀

Ah really? That must be pretty difficult to deal with! I can't say I was upset with the peace and quiet after the roads in Turkey 😂 I got through more than a single chapter of an audiobook which I failed to achieve for my final 600 miles in Turkey hahaha 🤣 Thank you 😀 although it was tough, I really enjoyed the challenge 🙂

Thank you mate 🙂 I'm happy they are helping you plan your upcoming trip, KZbin was where I got a lot of inspiration for my trip and it's nice to know my videos are helping others as well 🙂 Of course buddy! I'll probably be slowing down once I reach south east Asia in a month or so once the race against winter is over haha 😂 in the meantime, if you have any questions then feel free to message me 🙂

Always amazes me how normal people are all over the world. Just people doing their jobs. Pleasant. Polite. And then there's the bad guys that screw it all up for the rest of us.

This is unfortunately very true! Thankfully the majority of people you come across are pleasant and a lot of them are really friendly. It just takes a small minority to make things difficult for others 😔 Thankfully they don't seem to be overly common!!
