Very good and realistic 👍🏻 You should show a picture of a real one next to yours for a comparison 😄

Excellent work and brilliantly filmed. Achieving that level of detail is hard enough but the added complication of filming your work, without getting paint all over the camera, must make the job much more demanding. Well done.👍👌😁

Cheers! Yep it can be tricky to do whilst filming, more so as the camera often sits exactly where i need to be. The last couple of videos I've filmed more than 1 wagon just in case something goes wrong or the effect doesnt come out as well. This gives me chance to have more clips to choose from and select the better ones.

Outstanding Tim and a couple of questions please :- Do you wait for the rust colour paints to dry before you add the next one ? If you have not got an airbrush can you use brushes and would you thin the paint ? Brilliant Tutorial Thanks.....................................Cheers Kev
@thescrapline49054 жыл бұрын
Hi Kev. The first 2 layers went on almost immediately on top of each other, around 3 - 4 minutes gap between. Work the paints with the IPA no longer than 30 minutes after the second colour is added. The 3rd and 4th colours are added about 30 minutes after the re-working was done, again re-work that no longer than 30 minutes after. Acrylic will harden after 30 minutes and becomes stubborn to work. Theres no reason why this method wouldn't work by brushing it on just avoid mega brush marks. Some brush marks may also work in favour as itll trap colours when you start going back down through the layers. You saw that in the Cavalex video where paint found its way into some of the pits in the plastic. You could get the same effect with brush marks. Don't dilute it to much.
