Enjoyed the discussion very much. My idea of future research include updating of texts like ‘8 Arms’ ( by anyone who wishes to tackle it); updated discographies; a 2024 version of ‘The Beatles on Record’ both the Roy Carr book and the Mark Wallgren 1982 Book ( how the Beatles fared on the various record charts). Also research on a cultural level exploring how the Beatles influenced literature and newspaper headlines / magazine titles and commercial advertising jingles comics ; etc. and of course the continuing work of Luca Brasí; Mark Lewisohn ; the Lennonology project etc. Thanks for a great episode!

One would hope that as time passes and scholars take increasing ownership of the Beatles history, they will employ rigid standards of objectivity. Recently, a gentleman introduced as a “ Beatles scholar “ was interviewed on KCRW - FM on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Beatles first appearance at The Hollywood Bowl. His version of how the Beatles came to appear on the Ed Sullivan show bore absolutely no resemblance to the oft repeated story that Sullivan’s plane was delayed by the throngs of fans greeting the Beatles upon their return from their Scandinavian tour on October1963. Sullivan wondered if President Kennedy was arriving only to be told that the Beatles were returning home. His show business instincts told him that any act that could generate that kind of excitement belonged on his television show.

Yes, that is my point. for this particular forum topic, they should have gotten her, considering her professional credentials and published book on the subject.
