Episode 15 - Set Building 1955 and 1956 Topps Baseball Cards - PART 1

My two favorite sets of all time are the 1955 and 1956 Topps Baseball Card sets. They have mega stars like Sandy Koufax, Roberto Clemente, Hank Aaron, Ted Williams, Jackie Robinson and more. This is Part 1 of a multi-part series where I take you through my latest additions to my 1955 and 1956 Topps archives in my quest to complete the entire set! Sweet stack Jay!! Something about vintage cards...just like what you were saying about the players looking like average Joe's...it's like they have a soul. I collect rookie trophy cards and every time I go back to the 60s cards I'm hooked for a while !

Hi Jay, thanks for the video, always love to look at 1956 cards, as it is my favorite set, and the only set I actively build. I had been a subscriber to Joe's channel, so between your recent videos, I found you and this video. Joe's video with his father checking out his '52 Mantle is EPIC! I live in CT and considered going to the White Plains show. Nice '54 Bowman Hoyt Wilhelm pick up! I actually have a Wilhelm auto on his 56 card, with the card graded PSA 7. If interested, I have at least 50 slabbed '56's which I can offer you. Grades range from 5 to 8. Most are PSA and GAI with some SGC and BVG. I have sold a few lots on and off eBay, and generally just try to recoup my investment. Let me know if you would like to discuss. I need to learn to get onto Facebook and Instagram, etc, as opposed to eBay. Regards, Mike

When I started the 56' set my goal was psa 7's but it got to pricy so I buy them raw looking like 7's good luck with your sets

Don't forget ,"the coolest card," of any player... I nominate '71 Topps Brooks Robinson, whiffing in-action; or, '76 Topps Yaz from that era. A lot of rookie cards look lame with a tiny head in a circle, or a dumb close-up. '75 Topps FB Greg Pruitt card is my fave from all the 70's and it ain't worth sh..

Oh my gosh your so right about the ‘71 Brooks! That would be a cool idea for a video to have the top 10 best and worst baseball card photos! Brooks would definitely make the worst and Canseco with sideburns would too!
