I started collecting last year for the first time. I had no real goal in mind and it really became over whelming with all the diferent types of cards out there, not to mention the cost. So now I'm looking at focusing my collecting to a specific team and I'm going to narrow my focus from there. Your video gave me plenty of things to think about. I really appreciate your video and I beleive it is going to help me develop an interesting and fun collection. Thanks!

Still doing Razz or more likely 'Draft' right now coz as you explained, all spots will have their own cards, no losers, all winners. However, the value of the last pick might have no value at all.

Why not put them into a spreadsheet? You can download most of the basic information from PSA and then add columns for "HAVE", "TEAM" "YEAR", etc. Then you can quickly search for desired groupings (Dodgers, Jackie Robinson, etc.)

Great video. Did you end up putting all manufacturer together by year, or using year followed by manufacturer as the master sort layer.

Great video. Although I think you may be overestimating the desire for sub-grading. Especially now that the eBay Vault is soon to become the PSA vault. Personally I only consider buying cards graded by PSA.

Since we don't have a prominent local team here in Louisiana, I started collecting my favorite LSU players who have played in the Majors. It gives me a chance to follow more teams as a baseball fan.

It depends on the year and product - the code on the back in the best way- but in recent years , Topps, for example started placing them backwards in packs and with the “SP” or “SSP” letters on the back

I am a 52 year old lady! My husband put a KZbin video on the other day and I kept telling him I had certain cards that they were showing. He didn’t believe me so I got my collection out and now I’m feeling like a 10 year old again obsessing over my cards. I have started trying to sort my collection in the best way. I appreciate your video to give me some ideas!

I don’t look at sorting my cards as a hassle. I actually enjoy sorting my collection. I sort each player in alphabetical order. Once you do that, it is very easy to add new additions.

@hollowpoint105710 ай бұрын
I agree with most recommendations except I think it’s alway best to sort sets in card order (e.g. 1 - 700). It’s easiest to work by 10s and lay out a grid. Then you can order each set of ten (dups together) and get the full sequence. This is the easiest way to determine what’s missing for a full set, and it’s easy enough to look up the numbers for the key cards in each set they may need to be pulled for special storage.

I make coasters with my commons. I cut a 4 x 4, sand and stain it. I then cut the card to size and glue it. Finally I modge podge it and put a couple of layers of polyurethane on it. I also use commons for TTM autographs. If they come back signed, great. If they don’t return then it’s not a big deal.
@jayscards8640 Жыл бұрын
I’ve always believed sorting and organizing cards is what makes a collection without it you just have an accumulation of cards. Instead of sorting cards by team, I sort them by card number. You provide us with good sound advice!
