I absolutely get the “near a big city” thing as a grown up. However, as an 18-22 year old college kid, you absolutely want a decent sized small city on the Plains vibe. College in Lubbock rocks. Being 5 hours from the Rockies and 1.5 hours from Caprock Canyon & Palo Duro is legitimately some of the best outdoor activity access in Texas.

Lubbock is way better than Waco. Way bigger population. More people=more fun. The food is better, the music/entertainment/night scene is way better. It's easier to travel there because of the international airport 15-20 mins north east of the university. The culture is a much better mix of people, so it brings lots of different experiences and things to do. More job opportunities. Ask anyone the best thing about Waco...they'll say "it's closer to Dallas..." which literally means LEAVING WACO is the best thing. lol. Lubbock's isolation forced it become a entertainment and cultural hub and it has thrived. Waco is a s**t hole

Unfortunately the AP Poll is not meaningless: it drives TV slots & ratings, media coverage, recruiting interests, etc. We would benefit from the publicity of the little number next to Texas Tech.

If Tech takes any team lightly in the B12 we are idiots. There is talent all over the conference. I am a TTU grad, but I have relatives that played for and/or work for Baylor and one that played for Baylor. Also, my best friend played for Baylor and did a semester at TTU as well. I was a One-Guy from Italy Pizza fan back in the day because we got free pizzas from time to time, and my neighbor there was probably his first employee (I think it was Brian. Brian if you are out there, reach out!). I think Julio's was the go-to cheap Mexican food place then because they made their own chips that were free if you bought anything (I may have the name wrong - It was only 28 years ago (my memory with names is so bad 🙂)). I lived in the north Tech ghetto in a trailer park which no longer exists (after a short stint in Bledsoe Hall which had no AC at the time).

Waco beats Lubbock, not even close. Spankys cheese is great, but holistically. Waco is better. AND don’t even get me started on the coffee, you didn’t even discuss our coffee shops in detail. We rail yall on coffee. #sicTech
