"I want to support what Dabilo said about Miss Botswana and share an experience that confirms her points. During the Miss Botswana competition in 2009, we witnessed something similar. The organizers called their favorite participant the one they wanted to win into another room when she wanted to withdraw. They told her, 'You are our Miss Botswana, so please don't go.' They probably thought none of us participants were listening, but we went to the door and overheard everything. Despite hearing this, we stayed, thinking maybe we had misunderstood or that fairness would prevail. But on the final day, their favorite girl won, just as we had expected. The management from 2009 is still the same today in Miss Botswana, so nothing has changed. I could even tell who Dabilo was referring to when she kept saying 'she' that person is still in charge. These practices show that fairness and transparency are still issues in these competitions. For them to truly become credible, there needs to be a complete overhaul of leadership and systems.

I’ve had the privilege of experiencing Dabilo’s presence in the modeling world multiple times, and I can confidently say she is incredibly chill, reserved, and modest-showing no signs of a "queen bee" attitude. I hope more people find the courage to speak out against injustices in various organizations so we can drive positive change. This is a new era for Botswana, and meaningful transformation is long overdue.

I watched Emma Wareus interview with Scar, she volunteered to help with Miss Botswana as she has the experience but the management refused and told those girls not to speak to Emma. Imagine Emma Wareus who has a relationship with the Miss World owner, they refuse her counsel.

Most girls keep quiet ka hostile treatment ya pageants. It is Very bold to whistle blow. More girls should come out. This is wide spread. My daughter went through same treatment In another pageant.
@nikkiseduku7829Күн бұрын
The only difference here is, she has a platform and we are in times of changes so it's catching even better fire. I'm one of the models that speaks out on Injustice ya pageantry but most times I got dismissed by those who have platforms mainly because of their affiliations with the organisations.
@baengmoeng42442 күн бұрын
You can only truly understand her if you've experienced similar situations yourself. It's difficult to put into words the atmosphere and people's reactions without them saying anything. I understand you, Dabilo, and I'm so glad you spoke out. You were treated unfairly- those girls felt so threatened by you that they became consumed by their own insecurities, which was their problem, not yours. This was the moment where your resilience had to shine because institutions often disregard emotions and mental health e nna e kare o tsosa modumo and being loud. By speaking out, you gave a voice to young girls who have faced similar challenges, and I am incredibly proud of you. You tackled something most of us choose to suppress, burying the pain and letting it quietly erode our confidence over time. For your courage and strength, you truly deserve a crown. Thank you for saying what so many of us have struggled to articulate at some point ❤

I can relate, I've been deemed as more of a problem only because I don't conform without questioning, and if yiu have your own will and speak your mind they blackball you, and mind you even the contestants would see it and ask how I'm praised as one of the performing models but still lose out.

Miss Botswana Red Flags 🚩🚩🚩 1. Palesa was supposed to win a car, they changed last minute and said she'll win P100000. 2. Lesego Chombo didn't get her package and they forced her to come out in public and say she didn't join the pageant for prizes.....🙄no one spends a lot of money participating in a pageant not expecting to win anything. 3. Anicia won under the same management that made her win Miss Teen International...what Dabilo means when she says they already know their chosen winner even at boot camp stage. Miss Botswana management needs to change!!!

There was a top comment that is now deleted- that person said ga a utlwe gore Dabilo a reng. Really! What is the person talking about? The person was possibly one of the corrupt management or the evil contestants who were intimidated by Dabilo. This is loud and clear! Dabilo is describing the typical Batswana behaviour- self low esteem, victimisation, unfair treatment, evil nature, malice, corruption. Happy you left Dabilo. You have good character and values. Check Chidimma and her suffering and where she is. Have a come back one day and show them what you are made of, ngwanaka. Over to God. May God direct your path. You are winner!

Shame I can feel her pain. The unfairness and favoritism displayed in all these shows can break one if you truly believe in them. Be it award ceremonies, pageantry, modelling and show business. They all seem to have gate keepers who think it is their duty to decide who enters and wins and who doesn't. What a shame! But you can still build your brand Dabilo. You can still build it all by yourself and be the best model that you wanna be. When you do that no one can stop you.
