David would absolutely thrive and destroy these players if he played today! An incredible talent!

Stuart Scott was the best guy on ESPN. I miss that guy. The last NBA championship he covered was 2014.

Much appreciation to the folks who put this video (and docuseries) together. Great to see this performance broken down, complete with some amazing behind-the-scenes footage to boot.

Kobe 82? When did they add the extra point to the 81??

As I'm about to utter. No disrespect to the late great Black Mamba, but let's be accurate.

Weirdest part of this video was hearing the announcer say “Clippers fans”

David looks like he lifts weights in between possessions. He was so ripped back then.

IIRC, late great Kobe Bryant scored 81 points sometime in January or February 2006 against the Toronto Raptors. Thanks to the Detroit Pistons, as I remember four of their starters (Wallaces, Rip, and Chauncey) were interviewed (selected as East All-Stars) and asked for their take about the feat. Rasheed asked who guarded him. Some (maybe Rasheed too) quipped the game has already been decided (Lakers about to win) when Kobe suddenly thought having an exhibition. Same goes for this game. I think the Spurs were already secured the 4th seed in the Playoffs. I bet Pop will rest him instead of seeking individual achievements. He is not around at that time, assuming assistant coaching duties at Golden State.

Spurs fan all my life to the day I die, but I never cared for David Robinson, but im still a Spurs fan, he was just way to soft for me and not a aggressive leader.

the legacy of 70+ points has been downgraded to just a mere list because NBA players easily scores today.
@RicardoAGuitar Жыл бұрын
There was a 70 point game in the 90s. A 70 point game in the 00s. (81, in that case). A 70 point game in the 10s. And a 70 point game in the 20s. They aren't happening with greater frequency yet.
