I have to say the problem with more backrow removal to deal with the floodgate problem has one issue. It’s a cascade on fair traps like dogmatika punishment, terrors of the overroot and compulse for something that isn’t their fault. Ban all floods is the only correct solution because backrow removal is already good enough

My I suggest they just print a quick play which can just destroy a face up card this would help prevent floodgates from being toxic. You maybe need to add some restrictions on it but i think this would be better. It would be good into combo

Come on it's really not. It's LV 4 so you can't send it of dusk dragon you need to send of with branded fusion. Which if you had tested it is just bad. Ido is the next one that people would play it doesn't have the problems of DDD guy but it's obviously not as good as puppet as it's lingering effect is better. But having an easier floodgate to access is better than the DDD guy as it's just way more awkward to play.

eventually theyll start making things like salad circle where its a core engine card you always use and its like .. rota or mst. ritual spell or mst. and its gonna be so abundant that floodgates will be the weakest cards.

That sounds like the Verte-DPE format. Floodgates weren't really a thing in the main outside of decks like Eldlich which was experimenting with unlimited Skill Drain since DPE was popping everything. The only real floodgate was Scythe which was paradoxically a floodgate that was in the format because of an endless pop everything boss monster.
