He talks about catholics “thinking” they were second class citizens. They literally were. He mentions he was 9 or 10 at the time, however, he should spend some time looking into the structural challenges catholics faces living in northern Irish ‘democracy’. There is no doubt Protestants were also living in bad conditions, all people from working classes were. However; those with power were disproportionately Protestants. Furthermore, when the British army came to facilitate law, order and peace. That was only applied to those on the Protestant side. The British army colluded with unionist paramilitaries against catholic communities. The crazy thing is volunteers on both sides have almost the exact same story for why they became involved. It’s classic British military / government policy. Divide and rule.
@fergalosullivan26202 ай бұрын
Your 100% correct... It's funny to think that it magically happened in 1969.. What a joke..... 800 years of British invasion in Ireland and mass murders and slavery for catholics across the whole island of ireland is why the Ira formed, just like tommy had to form the English defence league because he felt alone and persecuted. Nothing about the genocide in 1847 by the British government of Irish people, told in the history books as a famine... Another great lie as only 1 crop failed because the English landlords had all the good agricultural land grabbed for themselves and they exported the cereal crops and vegetables, beef and bacon by the ship loads to British soldiers fighting in other countries like India NZ or Argentina, more places they should not have been. The Ira formed originally because of the constant British persecution of irish people for many years and he let's out all these massive details. Why didn't he ask how the hell was there British on the island of ireland in the first place? How would an English person feel if a few English counties like Yorkshire and Northumberland were part of northern England but was run from Dublin and the native English were treated like second class citizens.... Your doing some very good journalism tommy and uncovering an awful lot of corruption in the BBC, the political system and the msm. What you experienced in England with the foreigners was what was done for hundreds of years to irish people in there own country.

British presence on the island of Ireland, as long as it continues there will be issues and there will be horrible men like Johnny Adair. Once Britain leaves, we can get on with being good neighbours.
