Jonathan, I just want to thank you. Because of hearing your perspective supported by the Word, I have viewed confession for how it is suppose to be. It's a command by the Lord and we should obey, yes. But also, your reference to Adam and Eve, how they were both naked and felt no shame, just paints the picture why we should pursue confession that is specific as it can be. Believers can argue all their life whether confession should be specific or not. But what I believe God has at least revealed to me is this: The more specific the confession, the uglier it gets, the wider the heart opens, the more freedom in Christ we experience. There is power in confession. Because as believers, we must realize many times we may not receive a response that is loving or encouraging to repent or truly revolved around Grace from the listener, but nonetheless we should ALWAYS remember that this is exactly what Christ died for (our sins) and paid the penalty (death) for us....... experiencing the forgiveness, repentance, and Freedom in Christ is the pursuit.

Blessings and greetings from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. When you confess your sins to God, you will experience freedom from sin.

One of the best episodes yet! I love how Kathy touched on the topic of obvious sins compared to those that aren't. It's something my family and I wish was talked about on Christian media. I was going to say 'talked about more often' but this is the first time I've heard it being addressed anywhere. I think it might help change the view people have on Christians and what it means to be one. We don't want to be like the Pharisees.

You should do an episode where you address depression and suicidal thoughts as a christian. Would be interesting to hear perspectives on this.

Disagree; I don't want to know the fetishes / perversions of my community group. Nor would I want to know if they lusted after my girlfriend etc. What you are prescribing is extra-biblical.

I think like JP said there needs to be some discernment with it. I think there is some benefit of exposing sin and having others know about it so they can hold you accountable to do better and seek Christ
