This has been called one of the best Holmes films with Basil and Nigel, because they kept them in the Victorian era. I think this is my favorite of the ones starring them, although the more modern series starring Jeremy Brett made by Granada films appeals more.

Great film and beautiful print. WARNING: SPOILERS- Was surprised that Holmes was on his back foot for so long. A few times, mid-film, I though Homes was just playing along and planed to spring the trap in the final act. But no! And nice turnaround having Moriarty chasing Holmes in the climax. Nigel Bruce's excellent comic timing worked as a perfect foil for the smug Holmes. It what a fun bonus, letting Watson get the last word! I'm rating The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes as the best of the all the Baker Street films.

I'm pretty sure the main playlists were made with an Adventures added, but that movie was since removed. If you go into the playlist and "show hidden videos," sometimes you can see the now-defunct Adventures. But somehow, this video has managed to be found by yt and also by playlist creators 😂 so who knows. Maybe because the screen writers aren't too bright aka lack the imagination of the original author. Anyhoo... i do love these productions with all their faults!!! Keep 'em coming!!!
