And what if you wanted to buy a 250cc to fit in there like a hammerhead 150 put a 250cc on it would it be possible and how difficult would it be
@MikesMiniMotors3 жыл бұрын
I have never messed with a Hammerhead 250cc, so I am not sure how it mounts. I highly doubt it would just drop in, and would probably take some fabrication to get it mounted in there.

I was hoping to see how you removed the motor in detail, I've been having trouble removing my gy6 motor, more precisely the clutch and bolt removing from the gearbox its married with.

Sorry I didn't film that, that was my second video and I was still really new at this. I don't own this anymore, but I do remember it being a bit of a pain to get the old engine out and the new one back in.

@@MikesMiniMotors the motor being a pain is almost an understatement, although I have finally got it off by beating it with a hammer, tap tap on left tap tap on right, tap tap on top, tap tap on bottom and it finally let go, still can't get the housing off the forward neutral reverse (FNR) differential gear box, there ain't not ring lock by what I can see and I got all the bolts out, but something is defiantly holding it on. I didn't know there was a differential gear box that also took the (FNR) function until I started modification repairs on my go kart, I bought it with a dead dead motor and planning to mod a mounting plate for a predator motor, because of the independent rear suspension, its does not have a straight axle and the differential needs to be intact if I don't want to build a custom gearbox for my axles, ( and I don't want to ) so until I figure out how to get that clutch housing off my differential, my project is on hold weather I like it to be or not. congrats on sharing and uploading your experiences by the way, I thought about doing it, but being on disability for my mental illness, I heard of an other uploader who was on social security who got strong armed by social security with a choice, you can upload videos for money and lose your benefits or keep your benefits and not upload videos, being brave as she was, she chosen to upload videos, I don't think I'm that brave to risk my steady and reliable income, but thats just me 🤗, I do respect those who show respect to there followers and subscribors, and the ways you've represented yourself thus far has earned my respect. regardless thanks for the upload, its still one of the more detailed video about the disassembly of the GY6 motor, crazy how there's not all that many videos on how to disassemble and reassemble the GY6 motor from go kart frames, plenty on scooters and almost none on go karts. but I can't use scooter disassembly videos to help me with my go kart, the process is way different, but eventually I will figure out a way, I just got to. peace and prosperity find and be with you Mike's Mini Motors and all who seek it, Jimbo love: Out.

Haha, yeah, being a pain was definitely an under statement! I even slipped and punched myself in the fave while working on that thing! I'm sorry to hear about your friend and how they we being messed with since they were doing videos. It would be hard to gamble against steady income! Thank you for the kind words, as well! Yeah, I noticed not much for GY6 go kart videos too. That's why I have really enjoyed running this channel, putting out videos that hopefully can help people work on theirs projects too. That's even why I will leave in issues I run into in the videos. I feel that is the more realistic approach to working on something, and working through the issue can help others that may run into the same thing.

@Mike's Mini Motors I had a similar experience with my moms blazer, had that wrench getting a nut loose on the front left rotor hub and wrench lost grip of the nut and smacked my face a good one, had a vary visible scar for a good few months, now its not so visible. yeah I totally agree leaving the issues you run into not only makes you more relatable because no one is a perfect mechanic, but also it gives us warning to those issues so we could handle them better because you exposed them giving you a hard way to go, people uploading experiences on thing's like this is like settings the difficulty meter from vary painfully annoying to somewhat annoying. grate work, 👍and much thanks for leaving in the issues you find, it really does help the process of learning how to mechanic better 👍👍

Great video bro, you ever find out why it’s running rough. Bc it’s happening to my Kandi 150cc gy6. Anything would help brother. Can it be the fuel and vacuum not getting the right mixture?
@MikesMiniMotors2 жыл бұрын
I'm not actually sure what it was... I just let it run for a bit and then it started running good, and then it stayed that way. I was going to start my search at the carburetor for air/fuel issues though.

If it was just the timing chain on the old engine, why didn’t you fix it instead of taking it all apart?
@MikesMiniMotors3 жыл бұрын
The timing chain skipped on the camshaft which caused the piston and valves to collide. I did try looking for replacement parts at first, but since it was a K-block GY6 in there, it was very hard to find anything for it. So I just decided to replace the motor with a normal GY6 engine, with the added benefit of also being able to upgrade it later on, if I choose to.

What was the cost of putting a new motor on their please and thank you
@MikesMiniMotors3 жыл бұрын
I believe when I did it, the cost of the motor was somewhere between $400-500.

Do these fit on pockets bikes like x19 x18
@MikesMiniMotors3 жыл бұрын
With quite a bit of fabrication, you could possibly put one of these on a x18/x19 Pocket Bike. But as a drop in replacement, no this GY6 engine would not go in one of those bike. Well, at least that is the case with the X19 I own. It uses the Honda-based 110cc horizontal engine, and not the GY6.
