100% agree, inland Spain is far more interesting than the coast. So varied and beautiful. A great trip to do, looking forward to following your travels, great to see some sunshine even if it’s only vicariously 😊

Spain is a paradise for biking. Glad you are enjoying it. Some great A roads and B roads, and also good motorways if you are in a hurry.

Hello "One Man", the video looks awesome 😊 I have a similar tour planned, but a bit more east ... From Austria via Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Georgia and Armenia to Iran. See this area, back via Turkey, Greece, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnien Herzegowina, Croatia and Slovenia to Austria. Looking forward to see your videos, Gerhard

Jees lad- I left the country by bike for the first time at age 51 this year. I've cycled in Europe many years ago but I find having a motor much easier. Anyway I traveled to Scotland from Southern Ireland and I found even the tiniest of roads amazing & generally car drivers were super considerate.....best not come to Ireland😅😅...but seriously you should- just don't expect good roads! I drive a 2003 DL1000. Still going strong!

Motorway driving standards are certainly better in Western and Southern Europe, I think Scottish roads, like those generally in the UK, suffer more from frost /rain combo and simply insufficient funds to repair. ride safe.

Scottish roads are abysmal. The rest and be thankful fiasco...? Let the Spanish sort it out. They'd either tunnel underneath or make a huge bridge. The roads in Spain are superb.

Loving this Ian. Thanks for sharing. This is very insperational and I'd love to do something like this when I retire (quite a few years away though 😞 but I can dream for now). What would be really useful is to share the details and costs for all the hotels you stay at along the way. I'm impressed you camp as well, but I dont think that's for me as I need my creature comforts, but know that accomodation adds more cost. I better get saving.

Hi ‘One-Man” & thanks for the first couple of videos. Great music too. You’ll be hard-pushed to keep the background music as relevant to where you gonna be travelling through. Finally, I’ve a couple of suggestions to make it even better for us, the viewers. If you want to hear them we can do so but via the comments.

@onemanonebike8514
@onemanonebike8514 Жыл бұрын
I will get around to that sometime soon. As for performance... my bike is really too big and too heavy and I would like something smaller and lighter, around 350 to 500cc, but it's the bike I have so we're making the journey. You don't need power on trips like this. It's all about making your way in your own time.

do you really recommend Suzuki v storm 250 as bike for long tour? i have seen a used bike from model 2020 , which has gone 11000 km so far and I was wondering if it is comfy for sitting on it at least 10 hours per day?
@onemanonebike8514
@onemanonebike8514 Жыл бұрын
To be honest, whatever bike you already have is the best bike for touring. I find that two hours on the saddle is enough for my bum so I stop for a break around every two hours, either for fuel or a drink. It also breaks up the journey. Some days you have to make a big mileage jump but most days you can break your journey up into small bite sized chunks. Also, the slower you go the more you see - so you DONT need a GS to tour. There are people travelling the world now on very small machines - one lady right now on a C90. Your 250 will be fine. Just take your time and enjoy the open road.
