@@AdultThirdCultureKid1971interesting!!! I know PBS recently did some interesting docs (not the Ken Burns stuff) re: the Bund and also a local PBS doc on the Bund in WI. Oh boy, did that whet my appetite to find out more! However, the Bund movement really took some hits after WWII started and the U.S. got involved but especially so when word got mainstream of how awful Hitler was.

I live in Milw, WI & I’ve done some research re the Bund and its presence here, as we had a HUGE German-American population back in the 30’s, in fact WI had the largest German immigrant population in the entire U.S. at that time. We also had a large Polish population too, and some of the local streets here in Milw were named after German cities. The Poles tho, REALLY raised a ruckus and did NOT want streets named after these German places! The Poles won in certain sections in Milw, not all however.

I really like what you're doing here. I think it's for many an unknown part of our history. I see it's had a thousand views in 2 months. I think in part because it's an audio program on a visual medium of KZbin. Perhaps if you could add some b-roll and some photographs that exist of that time to make it visual that it would get more views and wider dispersion on KZbin. Just a suggestion. Thanks for what you do

Hi, As a wannabe intellectual that saw your comment and thought to himself, yes, that is what I would have written as my comment. So, thanks for that! Part 1 w/ Rachel Maddow was very good, and so I started the 2nd episode, but it is in audio only format. Dang! I'll see how far I get in this episode. It is, however, a podcast! And the strict definition of same is what #2 presents.

We've seen the German-American Bund / American Nazi rally at MSG; we know about the KKK; and neo-fascist groups throughout the decades. (Including the Trumpism / MAGA cult.) Has anyone watched the series 'Ridley Road'? - It was a British production, shown on PBS. It is (I think) based on a true story. The series portrays the neo-fascist movement in London in the 1960s, and a group of anti-fascist Jews who infiltrate the movement and do righteous battle. Awesome story.

Agreed. I mean, the rest of the German pronunciation was off, too, but that's fair for more complicated words that are mentioned once.

Ohhhhhhh....this was SOOOOO disappointing. This series would have been SO much more interesting had you used historic video clips of all the "characters" and speeches, and rallies. As it is, it's very difficult to get interested in this series.
