"Insight. Your Wisdom (Insight) check decides whether you can determine the true intentions of a creature, such as when searching out a lie or predicting someone's next move. Doing so involves gleaning clues from body language, speech habits, and changes in mannerisms." Insight is definitely used when trying to tell if someone is lying, if Rosalie was lying then Vara should've been able to tell. Otherwise, what's the point of the insight skill?

Basing this on another comment on this video- Yaga isn't a Wizard. The other person said that he has no class levels, but I think the reason that he hasn't cast a spell stronger than a cantrip is because he's an undercover Warlock, and something like Hellish Rebuke might give him away. For Rosalie and Teine especially but everyone really, you are not mic'd. Everyone else is louder so putting the video at a normal volume for everyone makes those 2 very hard to hear. Just keep that in mind going forward. Love the show I am so excited to start running this myself! Keep up the good work. Just see if the sound can be more balanced. Thanks.

Obviously bit late for this particular video, but something useful for any video where you have quiet and loud in the same video: audio equalizers are marvelous. You can find all kinds of programs and even browser extensions that will give you the option to equalize audio. You may have to adjust the settings for every video, but I can hear everyone in this video, even the quiet people, very clearly because I have all the frequencies adjusted up.

I'm only halfway through the episode, but I have a couple of predictions, one being that Yaga doesn't even have class levels (though that would leave the question of how does he cast prestidigitation as forest gnomes only have minor illusion), the second one is that he is secretly a super short high elf and thus took prestidigitation, which also would explain why he also gets sick going over the bridge along with the other elves, though, Gnomes are still from the feywild way way back as well, so maybe it is a fey thing, not an elf thing

Oh... I recently started watching your cool videos about d&d rules et al. However I just can't watch this series continuously. Having 1 mic without a pop and people speaking way too low, makes it for a super hard show to watch. Being fair, Jacob you deserve better players. Not being mean or anything. You invest a lot and it seems like you really try, but the players, most of them are very boring to watch. Hey, might check out other content of yours that has more energy.

@@Zanderaf I play d&d for over 6 years now. I DM quite a lot and have been a player quite often too. What I think is lacking is the empathy or better yet chemistry between party members. Not sure if they grow as a party and become a more experienced group but at this stage it's a "meh".

What are you expecting, 'Critical Role' levels of player charisma and professional-level performance? I genuinely don't mean any offense here, but methinks maybe your expectations are a little too high (especially regarding how the players behaved)... Frankly, I'd be absolutely thrilled to be (assuming I was the DM at the table) leading a group of players who were all this demonstrably dedicated to their characters, thoughtful about their decisions, and engrossed in the events of the fictional world. They're not as entertainingly dramatic as they would be if they were movie or tv show characters, but then I don't see why I should expect that since everyone involved isn't a professional actor with a great many years or even decades of acting experience. The members of Critical Role were all highly experienced voice actors well before playing D&D together; the group here at Arcane Arcade is not that.

Nah, he is cool, he has a speech impediment and stutters a lot sometimes which makes it hard to keep up with Logan and Jacob with RP but you can tell he tries (you notice it more if you watch games where he is the DM) but it isn't that bad once you get used to it, go watch Avnia on this channel (he DM's), you can see he put in work creating the story and world, this isn't Critical Role they aren't all professional voice actors, actors and performers . . . give him a break.
