Let’s get deeper into the money side of realignment/expansion and why teams change conferences to begin with most of the time. Repeat after me… “Media Rights Deal.” Broadcasting/Media Rights Deals are literally what killed the PAC12 and are making power conferences even more powerful than what they were before. The amount of money a SEC or BIG10 schools receives every year as a payout is often exponentially more than what a Group of 5/6 school will ever receive.
