i completed my tile builds using photo prints from wal mart. used your textures plus various other ones taken from sources i had already and google image searches, modified to with grids and cropped to fit. they turned out great! the only limitation was the most inexpensive prints were only 4x6 inches in size, but that still allowed me to create a lot of tiles including hallways and rooms. i attached magnetic tape to the undersides and will be using those tiles on a magnetic white board when i run my upcoming starfinder campaign. thank you for the resources and inspiration

Is that some kind of printing service (instead of printing stuff at home)?
@modus6693 жыл бұрын
@@CrookedStaffTerrain you can do photo prints directly through Walmarts website. 4x6 inch glossy prints are $.09 each and they will ship to you here in the United States. I had hundred printed in various textures and had them shipped to me. The total cost for the photos and the shipping was about $13. Then I glued them to some Dollar Tree foam board, cut them to size as desired, then attached some magnets to the corners. In the end I had a variety of different looking floors suitable for science-fiction tabletop role-playing.

I bought this today. Looking forward to making some! In the U.S. I'm not sure if they sell the foam core in 5 mm thickness. That's about 0.2 inches. I suspect they will have 0.25 inches. Hope that won't be too thick. Looks like I will need: foam board, thin cardboard sheets, glue sticks, clue gun and glue for it, box cutter, metal ruler and a cutting board. I guess straws too. Anything else I should get for supplies? Thanks all :)

The dollar store/tree foamcore/readi-board should be fine (I just looked it up and it's listed as 3/16" - which is around 5mm) As for supplies - if you plan on making some of the other stuff (like the stasis chambers), a few empty toilet roll tubes and some corrugated cardboard are also good to have.
