Eeeeee! I'm so excited for you getting to see The Beach Boys with John Stamos! It sounds like you're going to have an amazing time. I daydream about having beautiful leftover yarns to try some scrappy socks but, as of right now I might be able to try a pop of color at the cuff and toes in one color and the heel in another, if I can decide what my main color is going to be. Just wanted to Thank you for all your tutorials! I wouldn’t have found my love and confidence for knitting socks! I have only finished one pair so far. But I have finished two more 1st socks and working on the second socks for each. My husband is even impressed. I knit my very first pair for him. I can’t wait to finish these pairs so I can start on my 80’s yarn and my 4th of July yarn. My first year of summer sock camp as well. I have really enjoyed reading everyone’s comments and so many helpful comments. I have a couple of things I am going to try that someone suggested on the heel. ❤😊Have a wonderful vacation!

I am kicking back with some Minecraft Socks inspired by the pair that Wyoming Knits finished last week. It was 101 heat index 109 here this week. I was DYING!!! I am so glad I committed to Summer Sock Camp because I wouldn't be able to craft without socks right now... I am super jealous!! One of my friends saw them in Asheville... I want to go so badly!!! It is between loving the Beach Boys and would love to see them with John Stamos!!!

I have the gauge slap ruler that you showed. Just a tip…if you use it as a sock ruler to measure for when to begin toe decreases, be aware that the ruler starts with 0 not 1! Don’t ask how I know! 😂 I do love that smaller size!

Good morning Kay, I'm finally getting around to knitting socks for my 5 year old granddaughter. I started out using 9" circulars but was finding less stitches (58) was to difficult and too tight for 9"circular so I had to change to magic needles. I've only done one other pair this way because I switched to the 9" method and liked it so much better. I personally wouldn’t do less than 64 on a 9” because I don’t find it comfortable 🧦 but everyone is different and you have to do what feels right to you

I was wondering when you do your scrappy socks or the cowl, do you always change to the next color at the same stitch? I have heart that you should move your first stitch of the new color down a few stitches so there isn't a line going up the item. I know that knitting in the round makes a spiral and the two rounds do not connect us. Just curious as to how you do your stripes as your knitting looks gorgeous. Happy 4th of July!!

Hi Kay, Trudy here. It's been a while since we chatted. I am finally going to knit socks for myself and my daughter. I'm terrible with posting anywhere on social media, so I have zero of my projects, yarns, successes or failures, etc., anywhere. I have been gifted several pairs of socks from a KZbinr. I wouldn't say I like how they fit, but she wears them how they fit me. I like socks that hug my heel and arch but don't squeeze my legs and are not baggy. Hers are very baggy and I'm not a fan of the odd square heel and toe. She typically does cut in heels whatever that's called. I like a sock to hug just not a cut-off circulation by the hug. I'm 68, so as an older person, we tend to swell around the ankles. What heel would you suggest I work? I seem to prefer a seem-less toe, so toe-up is my preference. I've never steeked, anything before so that's intimidating but I need to get over it someday, lol😅. I don’t really want to do a cut in heel. It wouldn’t be my first choice. Is there any hope that I will enjoy homemade socks? I always assumed I would be too sensitive to wear hand-knit socks. I was wrong about that. I love them except for how these particular ones fit. Do have any suggestions or links I should use? Thanks so much. I'm in the background, watching here and there. I don't comment much. Thanks in advance. I hope you and yours are well. 😊

I love cuff down, heel flap and gusset. Best fit I’ve ever found for me and the people I knit for. It’s trial and error to find what works for you.

That all depends on size being made, leg length, foot length.. etc. so not really any way to answer. I suggest weighing socks you like the fit of and seeing how much yarn you used for them.
