Great coverage Ken, nice to se the RAM EV at the end of your video. I’m here in Bangkok, not much in electric here, only seen a few BYD models & a couple of MG . Looking forward to going to Vancouver auto show in March. Cheers Dave

The EV9 win is well deserved. I keep commenting the same thing everywhere, but it can also tow 5000lbs and offload 11.5kw for home backup. Great vehicle.

The VW Electric Van was at the Detroit auto show in September but you couldn't sit in it and didn't have a price. Disappointed they didn't have one ready for the Toronto show.

Thanks for watching! VW did not participate in this show. Stay tuned for when you may be able to see the NA version of the Buzz. I hope we hear something from VW later this year on this topic!

You left out vehicles such as the Ocean from Fisker. Did you see that there? They were there.
@EVRevolution
@EVRevolution 4 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yes I saw them the following week, as I only had a certain amount of time available during Media Day to cover some OEMs. They had 1 person there with the Ocean, taking names on an iPad. Not really much to cover since they are still fleshing out issues in software, production, NHTSA recalls, etc. I did not want to highlight this stuff.

Vinfast really surprised me with their line up. A very broad range of Ev's for a company that is fairly new to a lot of the competition.
@EVRevolution

Thanks for watching. Glad they surprised you. They came out with an expansive lineup well over a year ago, and are just now starting to bring more models over from home county. They went all-electric about 3 years ago after producing ICEVs for almost 10 years.

What's the price of the Equinox RS3 EV AWD? The FWD is 52399... Volvo's unhaggle pricing is out to lunch. XC40 AWD Recharge for 73k? Way too expensive. Same goes for the EX30. Kia.... I'd love to see the EV5 pronto.
@EVRevolution
@EVRevolution 4 ай бұрын
@GMcanada listed #EquinoxEV starting MSRP: 2LT FWD $48,199, 2RS FWD $49,999, 3LT FWD $50,899, 3RS FWD $52,399. All qualify for $5K Fed. Orders now open w/local dealers and avail mid-2024. I suspect the 1LT FWD to be $44K-$46K. Volvo is a luxury brand so that's where they play. I know several people who have the XC40 and C40, one person for 2 years now, they absolutely love them! To each their own. Yes Kia is moving forward at quite the pace, should see more about EV5 later this year.

Shows you can’t believe anything that comes out of a vehicle marketing persons mouth. The Hummer has been a failure. Not a word about the market leader, and the most anticipated vehicle, the Cybertruck…

Thanks for watching. Well, no one at Tesla wanted to chat with me on camera, and they did what they do quietly as usual. At least they have 2 areas for displays with staff. The most anticipated vehicle, the Cybertruck, I really think not. Yes there is hype and a sort of pent-up demand (how many actual reservations will actually convert to sales is a wildcard), however for sure the CT will do well in that marketplace. Still would not call it the most anticipated vehicle. Nope. For GMC, they don't believe the Hummer EV is a failure as you heard they basically consider it a live test bed for their current Ultium technology and things they can do for future vehicles. It is part HALO and part real, but at the price point, they don't really need to sell many nor do they try to hard. You seem to miss the point that the road to changes and electrification is not as straight and narrow as some would make it believe so. It's a real challenge for legacy OEMs, but many have embraced it while others like GM brands have still done little really to advance it within their own stables. I am giving GM brands this year to really show us they are serious, as they have a real chance to do so. We will see.

@@EVRevolution thanks for the considered reply. We are in danger of many failures, not just Lucid, or even Rivian, but the OEM’s as they dont seem to have the nerve to try new technologies to really get the costs down, which is necessary to make a profit. Just preserving a high price will be a self fulfilling prophecy ensuring failure and the take over by the Chinese brands, hopefully with Tesla as well…

Prius Prime name car of the year (phev). EV is not the answer. Range anxiety, Charging anxiety, sticker shock, most of the charging stations not working.

Thanks for watching, but could not disagree with you more. This is not the forum nor place to argue, but anytime you want to have a chat live with me, send me an email to EVRevolutionShow@gmail.com and we can set up a time. What you mention is general FUD, as the vast majority of owners love EVs!

🚙🛻 Nice, thanks for the show. Looks like Genesis is winning all the EV awards. Congrats to Kia, looks like they'll be major leaders of they keep it up. Who would you say is leading in the Electric Vehicle Race to Affordability #EVR2A? I know there's different definitions of affordability depending on who you're asking but that future market share will tell the truth.
@EVRevolution
@EVRevolution 4 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and for your observations. Hmm, well in North America, the race to EVR2A is Tesla IMO. At below $40k US, $53K CAD then add on incentives, they offer a compelling BEV. In Europe/Asia, it's the Chinese. MG and BYD just to name a strong couple. I see the Wuling Mini is making it's way to Europe now under another brand, and at $10K Euro or less for a commuter 4 passenger BEV, that will shake things up too. Good thing on Europe is that they have so many more good brands, like Renault, Skoda and others, that also have good priced and capable offerings. This is why the North American adoption in general, will always be playing catchup to Europe and most of Asia. "We" like big SUVs and Pickups, as the market sells over 80% of these yearly, and this is an expensive place to offer BEVs in. A bright spot may be the GM Equinox EV, if dam GM can build 100,000 of them or more a year! This trickle of BEV deliveries is nonsense and they could be a wildcard - if they choose be. I have hopes for this but alas, my reasoning tells me "ain't gonna happen". We will see. For my sense on affordability, it has to be able to be achievable to the mass market. And that means in Canada, the $25-$30K price and in the U.S., the $20-$25K price. Look at the Toyota Corolla. The third most popular sold LDV for the past years, including 2023. Sold over 700,000 units globally and is priced at about $22K or so, $24K in Canada starting price. The Rav4 is second to the Model Y in global sales units for last year, and that is because people love SUVs and Toyota has done a good job on the Rav4. The Prime version is great, but you have to wait 2 years for it to come from Japan, while you can get one from Woodstock, Ontario Canada in a couple of weeks or so. Which way do Toyota sales staff point people?
