In order to succeed for your first arrival in the U.S.A. you have to do the following: 1) Go to school to pursue your study and improve your English language skills 2) Do any volunteer work in your community 3) Attend any useful workshops/training courses that are available for newcomers 4) Keep networking with good people, friends, family members, bosses, managers...5) Be ready and willing to work hard and help other people in your community 6) Do not smoke, drink alcohol or use drugs 7) Be a good citizen (polite and nice with your neighbours) 8) Learn how to save money (earn more spend less.)

I love the way you talk. Haha. Am single mom met man in PP about 10 years ago. We had engagement but I felt that they force me because am not type person not like to argue. So then after I spent time with the guy he’s very attractive man. He does love me , then I’ve noticed the action at some places especially in karaoke places every girls knows him. lol. After I came back he whined so much until I can’t take anymore so i broke up with him then after couple years he found another woman sponsored him. Then he called me and complained about how hard it is to live here that he has to climb up on the roof to work under the sun. Lol I just laugh. Then he told me he enrolled online college, per him probably thinking that outrageous college. But it’s only certificate college. But overall Khmer people I’ve met they like to brag so much. The way they talk like we live in the USA grownups in here are clueless. But they don’t know that we don’t want to make a point with nonsense issues especially towards our own people. Be blessed 🙏🙏🙏 to all Khmer. To please don’t think we’re dumb we just let it go that’s all.

thanks for sharing your long stories. you're absoluately right, life in US is not easy as like as many Khmer people think but it's also not hard if we can adapt it. Word hard, updgrade skills, save money...enjoy life retire early lolz
It’s true that you have to work hard when you just come to America. If you have children, you think about good future for them. When you’re old over 65, you will have pension or social security benefits. If you have low income, your kids have free lunch and free tuition in college. You can also get assistance from government. You won’t be rich but you can live comfortably. So, there are more benefits when living in America. The problem is how you can migrate to America. Good luck to whoever are seeking for better lives.

This massage is for the people who want to go and live in the other country. Please don’t use the word never or it is too late to do anything . If you are waiting for the right time or when ever… it’s not going to be the right time for you to do anything. Stop give yourself an excuses with a thousand reasons why you didn’t do what you supposed to do for yourself and your family. GOD had given you everything you needed, just stand in front the mirror and look at yourself and see what is missing from the other people. See what they have that you don’t have. What I am trying to say is it never never too late to do anything if you put your mind to…stop give yourself an excuses and listen to the people who support your interests at heart.

People want to come here and then they expect the world to bend to their needs. That's not how it works. You come to America, you can keep your language and culture but you have to make an effort to assimilate into American culture. 40+ years here, I would rather be a poor man in America than a rich man in Cambodia.
@CamboXchange6 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing; absolutely life in America is completely different and they have to adapt the change
Because most of those old men is… like a rock! And most of them are very very poor otherwise they won’t go and get a young woman in the States. In my book those guys just pretend to rich . In the United States we have a lot of young and beautiful girls to choose from and believe me they sure know how to please a man. And all this young woman they don’t go and fool around. They trained themselves to be a wife which most of the wealthy men are looking for. They don’t want to be a side chic like some of the young ones.No drama please because this is reality not a joke. Real man knows how to spot a lady. I don’t know about Cambodia, but in the United States I had come across a lot of them through my husband. And most of the them they are humbled people.

If you want something bad enough you will find the way it doesn’t matter what country you want to go. A lot of Khmer in the refugee camp that came to the United States of America. They are here not because the United States want them here NO NO they are here because they’re find the way to get here by applying for the permission or filed the permit-ion to live here legally included my family. The United States don’t just pick you for no reason. And even they picked you it doesn’t mean that you gonna pass the interview. It is very hard to pass the interview because you have to proof that you are worthy for them to conceder and let you come.Education is a must and skill for something, but some time they might pick the one that doesn’t know anything especially the widows.
