I usually listen to interviews and podcasts while working, and never bothered to like them. This, I liked I recommeded and commenting because, I cannot begin to explain how so relatable this is to me. And the mix of women from varied ' so called' social status. One is happily married, one is hapily single and one is happily separated. So, irrespective of your current relationship status, we all a sitting together and discussing betterment for this situation. I could never talk about this without breaking down or getting enraged. This is awesome. Thank you for this.

Hey guys, great conversation, I learned more about sexual harassment from this pod cast than anywhere else. In the US all employees are mandated to go through a sexual harassment course at the time of hire and every year afterwards. Implementation of that policy at least in Tamil Nadu may be a step in the right direction. I am sure most of the multinational companies in India will have sexual harassment in work place course. If not they can add it. Thanks! Best wishes.

What an amazing interviewer and host you are, Ramya? Loved the complete conversation, esp 26:00, where you brought up molestation and the trauma it instills in us. It haunts me till date (trust me am old enough) to walk alone in a street or take a public transport and i dont even reside in India anymore. Its hard to work on your trauma esp when it resurfaces and causes anxiety

Why do people judge when you go to party or pub? Is it necessary that I need to drink? If I don't have intention to drink I should be sensible enough not to go to places where people are going to prove themselves insensible. This is not judging. This is stating common sense. Next regarding preference to dress. Wearing revealing dresses just highlights how we want to reveal ourselves even if it is a matter of right. Just like how we talk on a subject just to open ourselves same way we open ourselves where we want to. It doesn't mean all have to wear burqa. It just means men have to be limited to what they are being shown. Even though I dress for myself I am not alone in an island. Everybody should take some responsibility for the overall well-being. Afterall you don't wear revealing clothes for another woma n's praise right? Women is not a body product. Dont take shortcuts with your body.
@sofiyadavid47882 ай бұрын
The One who knows about their own limits in character wise and Decent dressing sense very well no one will be the victim of me too 😞 Most of the me too is happening in cine industries becoz it going full of glamour side..
@Lavamanisubra2 ай бұрын
Its the truth and fact that in our country, men from any background, do get aroused on seeing women's body parts, skin show is definitely a no-no these days even in corporate work environment, there is a certain dress code for proper conduct so that the work atmosphere is not distracted by the way women dress up, no see-thru or revealing dresses are welcome. Likewise, If that kind of system is followed everywhere, there is lesser chance of men crossing the boundaries, no matter in whichever rank she is at. Non-revealing Outfits definitely carry dignity. Whenever some women ignore these, in some occasions, they face problems. Not all men cross boundaries at all times. Of course, in a pub, one cannot expect inebriated men to behave in a cultured or civilized or decent manner. So, this is something a woman would probably understand when she becomes a mom of a teenage girl bcos its evident that Ramya isn't fully convinced with the reply given by Devadarshini mam about dressing sense. Every woman knows that, the safe way of dressing up well and looking presentable is different from wearing something revealing or catchy thats going to attract wrong men's attention. This logic applies to wherever you go and whatever you do, no matter what you think about your personal space, if that space shouldn't be intruded by strangers/random men, it's better not to invite trouble by wearing clothes in which you don't feel absolutely safe and comfortable. That's what DD mam says about throwing oneself into danger. Later on, if we complain and do not get justice, whatever mishap has happened, it's going to cause mental agony/long term implication for the victim herself. So, to prevent any mishaps, the older generation women advise us, which, many feminist women like the host here don't want to hear, but the negative outcome affects the woman herself who doesn't want to dress up safe😂😂Its like saying, "I will throw a stone at a stray dog, but the dog shouldn't react". Men don't see women the same way as women see themselves in the mirror. Growing up environment, upbringing, family's/parents' beliefs, school, friends, movies etc all contribute to the personality development, & the thought process of every growing up child. We cannot reform the society in a short span of time. Its easier to bring a change within oneself instead of changing the mindset of the entire male population of India.
