By 1986, the Buick Turbo 3.8 liter SFI V6 with the addition of an intercooler and other upgrades had matured into the ultimate 1980s muscle car engine. It not only could best every other American performance car engine from this era, it put to shame most of the performance engines found in much more expensive 1980s European sports cars.
