This is what rituals are for. We do spiritual ceremonies as human beings in order to create a safe resting place for our most complicated feelings of joy or trauma, so that we don't have to haul those feelings around with us forever, weighing us down. We all need such places of ritual safekeeping. And I do believe that if your culture or tradition doesn't have the specific ritual you are craving, then you are absolutely permitted to make up a ceremony of your own devising, fixing your own broken-down emotional systems with all the do-it-yourself resourcefulness of a generous plumber/poet. Loved this. I've been resting more often and not working as much. When the lockdown started, I was determined to "shine"and be on top of everything. From working at home, studying and taking part in social media challenges. I was doing it all! I burnt out quickly and my mental health took a turn. I became more anxious, barely slept and was always irritable. I made the decision to slow down. I also stopped beating myself down because I don't work out as much or eat as clean as I should. This break was needed.

I think one of my biggest flaws is patience. I'm very impatient and in this lockdown, I've decided to tackle puzzles. I don’t have a set routine, I know weekdays under the lockdown I have two hours of work. I’m trying to do other things after that other than chilling on social media all day, I’m trying to go back to reading and exercise, it’s harder in winter. I’m also focusing more on my side hustle.
