You are so sweet. I am a non finisher also. It’s ok it just means that we have lots of interests and we get bored easily. I hang on to my unfinished projects and eventually get back to them. Actually you are really great at finishing the small detailed projects so keep trying new things.

I really love your baby quilt. Did you know that it is traditional to leave a mistake in any handmade project as a recognition that only God is perfect. I’m really enjoying your videos. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Christine, thank you for watching. How reassuring is that! I will have to continue to leave mistakes in my projects.

I took a sock knitting classes a few years ago. The book that really helped me is Getting Started Knitting Socks by Ann Budd. I knit on 5 Double points. Double points work for me, could not get on with circular needles.I love making socks and have made over 30 pairs, I have even gifted some. For a first pair of socks I suggest using a thicker yarn double knit, with what ever needle size is given. The sock yarn I get here is kinda thin fingering weight, so a size US 2 needle, 3.25mm. I always do a swatch to see if my tension is what it should be. Happy knitting.

Thank you! Since recording this, I've knit one pair of socks and have another on the. They're very enjoyable once you get going!

I like 2.5mm chiagoo needles for socks using magic loop, it’s less fiddly than dpns and 9inch circulars don’t feel as comfortable to knit with (for me) the chia goo have a lovely smooth join so they are nice to use. Magic loop is really easy for knitting the heel too. Love your appliqué blocks the blanket stitch looks really nice on the hearts and makes them pop 💕
@stitchwithrachel2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Kelly! I will have a look, with the magic hoop do I just need the circular needles or do I need another 3rd needle for the heel?

I went to a presentation at a history museum in Knoxville Tennessee where they presented about quilts through history and they said some people in the 1700s and 1800s would put a mistake in the quilt for good luck. Your baby quilt is lovely and it has the “good luck” mistake in it!! I love your work and it inspires me!! I have never quilted. But I want to start. Your honest disclosure of your work is wonderful!!

Sorry to hear about your losses. It’s never easy and 2 so close together is heartbreaking. I learnt to make socks last year and absolutely love it. I tried dpn’s and that was ok Magic loop is the method I use most often on 2.5cm 80cm length. I’ve just purchased some 30cm short ones but not tried them yet. I’ll cast on in the next few days. Thanks you for an entertaining video…I only found you this week. Take care x
