Susan, I was so delighted at how well it fit the space. I had stitched it for that particular spot, but had no idea when I started stitching it how big the framed piece would wind up being. I am very happy when we placed it there and I saw how well it fit. I hope to enjoy it many years to come there. Dena

Dena, if you ever look up and see that By the Bay is missing from over your fireplace, send the police to my house. It looks wonderful on your wall. Love your finishes too. I know this is a cross stitch channel, but if you ever feel like posting some pictures of the clothes and things you have sewn, I wouldn’t object. Btw I’m the woman who was inspired by your son’s weight loss. I have started on the process to have surgery and am thinking it may happen in January or February. Yikes. Take care.

I stitched that 2 years ago. I got the tree stitched before January and put the leaves on every Sunday for the previous week. Have fun!

Hi Dena! We have been away to Sydney (the big fiddle city lol) as our daughter had her 3rd baby on Oct 30th, now 3 boys. We were gone for 11 days so catching up on flosstubes. Oh the witchy lady is too cute. Oh by the bay is great there! Lot of progress on so much. I was too tired to stitch after watching the 3 and 6 yr olds. Lol see you next time

Hi Dena love seeing your WIP's and finishes. I love By the Bay. It looks great on your wall. I have been working on my 3 months to a finish. I am working on the turkey (it is plastic canvas) and it's a lot of stitching. I had to frog on his wing because it was off but I didn't give up. I started to watch Stitching Scottie (Dottie). She is a hoot and I enjoy watching her channel and her scotties. They are adorable. I may take a break sometime this week on my turkey and work on my other project. It is the Christmas moose (it is also on plastic canvas) it is one of my 3 months to a finish. I hope to have all my 6 projects done by December timeframe (keeping my fingers crossed) But I won't be disappointed if they all don't get done. I also need to pull out what projects I will be doing for 2025 and get material for all 25 new starts. I do have most of the flosses but I need material and so I will be going to Stitchery X-Press (only 5 minutes from my home) and will be looking at what they have. I do have the itching for starting new projects but I would like to accomplish and work on my 3 months to a finish. In the meantime Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless Pat

Pat, I just finished video taping my plans for 2025, including my 25 new starts for 25 in 2025. But I will have some additional starts as well. Lots of new starts planned for next year since I have finished so many this year. Dena

Yes, my hair fell out by the handfuls when I was loosing weight this past year. It has begun to fill back in, but the lower length of it was so thin and seemed limp. So, I had the thin, damaged hair cut off and now I am sporting a shorter style for a while. Thanks so much for the great encouragement regarding my fabric choices and a finish suggestion for Liberty Notes. Enjoy your stitching! Dena

I love watching your videos and wishing I could make such beautiful cross stitch. I am 67 yo and I have only done stamped cross stitch. I try what you do and I can never do it. How do you even see where to stitch. The boxes so small . I can't believexi can't do it. Wish there were groups around by me. Maybe it's something I just can't do. Anyway, wanted to let you know how impresses I sm by you and can't believe all the stitching you do. Your amazing. I watch you all the time and wish. Plus you are so do sweet and happy. It is interesting that you do stamped cross stitch because I find that very hard to do. I can't get my x's to look the same! Anyway, if you desire to start counted cross stitch if you start on Aida fabric you can see the holes to put your needle through a lot easier. Dena

By the Bay looks fabulous over the mantle! But, when I saw that ladder set up, I though, oh no, Tommy is not going to climb up there is he? I've done a few of Sarah's temperature charts, including the tree. Yours will look amazing on that fabric. I just finished a version of the temperature butterflies for my friend in Florida for Christmas. I stitched February and July twice each, once for Florida and once for where I live in Nova Scotia. Oddly, my July looks much like her February!

So there must be something in the air, because I am doing the exact same thing in my craft room. Going through all my stuff and getting rid of crafts that I don’t do anymore. Putting in a new storage shelving unit to house all the stuff that’s been sitting around and looking really nasty oh maybe not nasty but cluttered. Yeah, that’s a better word. I got a giggle out of the fact that you’re stitching a tree because that’s exactly what I was stitching on while I was watching your video.
