Episode 33. UK to Athens. Riding my motorbike in & around Meteora monastery area

Finally i've been able to leave the UK and ride my BMW R Nine T all the way from the Uk to Athens via France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy ending up in Greece. Plus Spain on the way back over 32 days.

Tankbag - Givi 5L quick-release bag
Helmet - Arai Tour X4
Jacket - Alpinestars Andes V2
Trousers - Dainese Goretex Carvemaster 2's
Boots - TCX X Blend 1's
Gloves - Dainese somethings, wouldn't recommend can't wait to change them!

Very welcome, it’s got about 6 episodes left I finish editing the final one tomorrow. You should be excited, I got mine out to wash it today haven’t ridden for about 2 months and I loved just being with it again. I’m tempted by the big GS, but this bike just makes so much sense

Cheers mate, yeah I was surprised it was rainy but I was in Rome yesterday and it rained so heavily all day so I guess they all have bad weather at some point 😁 Certainly is, you heading anywhere nice soon?

Hello, I'm watching your videos. nice adventure I wanted to ask you about your opinion about the Atlas suitcases. I'm considering buying them, but I wanted to know how they behave in the rain, and in general pros and cons. thank you

thanks glad you are enjoying the videos. The Atlas pannier boxes are absolutely brilliant, i've had no issues with them and never had a leak even when my sat nav did get filled with water! The only thing i don't like is there isn't a way to leave them unlocked but still shut. But they look great & the mounting has been rock solid. I flipped my R9T over a few months ago on a dirt track, pannier ripped off but the frame hasn't bent & i'm awaiting a replacement clamp. No dents just a small scratch. I'd reccomend them, got mine from Pier City Custom in the UK they are lovely chaps👍

The joys and hazards of travel, deer deer me. I get the critique of tourists not thinking about others at the Meteora monastery area. As you well know mc riders think in a certain way, ie not to die today, that car drivers haven't got a clue about. And now Italy, land of ancient Romans and Piaggio! Can't wait.

Yes Mark should warn you I was very grumpy in Italy and I got stressed out by the Italian drivers, so at times I got a bit sarcastic but it’s mostly a happy few videos, mostly because the scenery was so good 😁 I was in Rome for the last few days and it’s the same on foot people are just too close or they don’t see you so I guess I just need to be more care free in Italy. Sadly didn’t take a Vespa for a spin, but admired a few lovely old Vespas for you and mentioned to my companion I have you on this channel that always manages to spot them 😁
