The true beauty about Stella for me is her interaction with tutors, especially top deck ones. Mystical/Personal Tutor into random middle spell (cantrip, rock, removal pick your poison) allows Stella to rip your wincon right off the top with her first ability ready for you to play. The biggest benefit in having like 5 different a+b with her in the command zone is being able to tutor the appropriate one depending on game texture and timing restrictions needed to find your window. A lot of these lines fall somewhere between 2-5 mana leaving room for protection, or just winning on top. Casting three spells can be tough but she definitely has some stuff going for her!

There's a cycle of Spellshapers from Future Sight that generate tokens of already existing cards. Example: Llanowar Mentor makes Llanowar Elves and Cloudseeder makes Cloud Sprites.

Stella goes infinite with an Untap spell like cerulean wisps to untap itself to re-target the Wisps and continue the loop

For Rakdos, you refer to dreadnought seeing 12 cards. That doesn't work. Rakdos is specifically mana value, which does make the evoke creatures much better, but no dreadnought...

Tymna Dargo is quite interested in new Rakdos. Its being tested by some currently, theres a pretty good chance it makes a pretty solid resilient finisher. Also molten duplication is a pretty good dcm combo option too. Being able to target an artifact initially makes it ever so slightly harder to remove the initial target before DCM hits the stack.

Thing that I see people missing about Aven interrupter, is that the plot mechanic forced the plotted spell to be played as a sorcery only. Turns all on stack interaction into useless face down cards in exile

I really enjoy Max and Max doing card evals, Wounded in particular is so open to some of the new design space that white has gotten that says play at instant speed and im hoping they brew something spicy in white soon haha

Also my favorite card from this set is Kaervek, because using removal to play more removal or a tutor for free from Grave in Massacre Girl, Known Killer will be very satisfying. It may even have me look at rebuilding Tergrid as it doubles all your discard or sac effects and who doesn't love Grief Scam? 😂

I agree with all of the thoughts on Stella lee, however, I do think it is being underestimated here. This is the first time I have seen this card but I do play a lot of izzet, and I think about the percentage of the time that I am playing three spells a turn and it is a vast majority of turns. Not saying the deck will be great by any means, but I do think it shouldn’t be underestimated.

Why are we talking like one of the best decks in the format, Tevesh/Kraum, is a Grixis Control deck? Hell, Blue Farm is a Grixis control deck a lot.

My guys, Stella is isochron in the command zone. And a value engine. And a cheap commander. You don’t even have to use dramatic reversal (but you could) you just need a spell that untaps her w any marginal upside. Untap creature, deal 1 damage, untap creature .. ok I guess it sorta needs to be the deal 1 damage lol. Oh, or “untap creature draw a card” there have to be twiddle cantrips🤷‍♂️ Someone’s gonna break this thing. Maybe play the Magecraft dudes. If you can find a couple cards that you can win w w infinite mana that don’t suck and if you can find a couple one card combos (check the orvar lists, any cantrip twiddle will do) or a threaten affect that pings 🤷‍♂️. I don’t know. But I’m interested. It doesn’t actually cast spells so storm payoffs won’t do but there’s something here. I would be absolutely shocked if this didn’t replace Niv Mizzet for the 2nd best Izzet deck. I’m a Malcolm Kediss guy😉 I guess you all got there. I shoulda kept watching lol
