Kenny Ken is bang on,when the scene split after hardcore all of a sudden there was two or three genre's of a scene that was generally under one umbrella, suddenly you had hardcore, jungle, drum and bass and happy hardcore.big raves at the sanctuary played two or three of those genre's in the main arena and I remember going upstairs when the happy hardcore dj's came on

I have to say, Kenny got me into DJ'ing. In 1996 my pal had a CD... History of Hardcore: Moving Shadow/Suburban Base (kzbin.info/www/bejne/mITWkGSJr8ehrqs) which Kenny mixed... and this showed me how two tunes can become one, and if you don't know those tunes... you might not even know there were two tunes playing. This is the art of mixing, the style of which Kenny is a master of. Once I heard his DJ'ing I quickly got myself a set of 1210's so I could have a go at the art myself. Sadly these days music is so disposable, most DJ's just beat match with a CDJ and bang on one tune after another. Big up to Kenny, a lot of respect to this man.

The Origins of Jungle and Drum & Bass book from 97 does mention who went to the council meetings, Bukem also talks about it in a interview saying in 1995 we all got together and promised not to sign to major labels, then in 1996 most people did.

The night in Wolverhampton was an Amazon night. We were at the night and remember coming down the stairs to get out and gunshots rang out. Kenny Ken definitely one of the all time bests I hated when people started calling things jungle and dnb its all fuking jungle here in the west we loves it dark and if you don't understand the meaning of that word in this context you were one of these ohhh look at him or can't go there on that night or in that room they play that jungle music it's aggie. These people never gave it a chance I think they didn't like the look of the people the different get up. I liked it all hardcore jungletechno jungle pop reggae dancehall soul blues jazz classical ect ect I just think there was narowminded people back then and still today. Big up Kenny Ken mix and blen, to many good nights raving to him and the rest of the names dropped and the rest.

Can't believe he cut Kenny off when he was going to talk about the Crazy Club, just because he never heard of it and said it didn't have any impact on the scene! Although it might have been the first club to have a resident MC (Chalky White), resident female DJs (Tamsin and Rap). Magika made out in his interview he was the first Asian in the scene, but Ray Keith was resident at Crazy Club. Loads of big PA's.
