Poor lovesick D'Jeeco, staring longingly up at Tayari trying to hide amongst the tree's foliage. Jabali is super protective of his mom, and fascinated with his father's genitals. But, when he took on that silverback stance, trying to block D'Jeeco from getting to Tayari, I had to laugh. Sich a lovely gorilla family. Great video capture!

All the comments are driving me bonkers. We desperately need this to happen for their amazing lineage and for their species. Tay hasn't had to mate with D'jeeco for almost 5 years (including pregnancy + Jabali's age). Maybe I'm the only one who wants this to happen. If you look at the ages and the close relation for most of our WLLG in our zoos, we desperately need this. Mobi, Zahara, and two others are the only three potential mates for Ringo/Jabali. ​@@MySkinnydip

@mentayflor no lo sé si sea pobre por estar encerrada como lo mencionas, la otra vez ví un documental de gorilas en la naturaleza y ví como mataban a una madre para robarle a su cría y la metían a un costal 😭😡👎 sentí tan horrible que apenas ví eso lo quité enseguida, aquí en este recinto es bonito y la veo feliz, claro que quisiéramos verlos en libertad en su hábitat, pero tristemente el gran depredador y enemigo es el humano 😭

I looked up the question of estrus and it said that silverbacks will sometimes pursue a female even when she is not ovulating (in estrus). I wonder when the little brothers will begin to understand about mating; I am sure they have observed it many times. Jabali is so concerned about his mom - it's very sweet.
