This is Episode 4 of the RUMO series: An Audiovisual Diagnosis of Foz do Rio Itajaí-Açu, produced in the first phase of the RUMO Project, carried out from 2020 to 2023. The RUMO Project team visited the municipalities of Itajaí, Navegantes, Balneário Camboriú and Penha , interviewing people, recording images of the activities carried out in the territory and the sectors that operate in Foz. In this episode, the highlight is the Itajaí-Navegantes Port Complex.
The Foz do Rio Itajaí-Açu Port Complex is the second largest in terms of container handling in Brazil. In this Episode we show how the Complex works, how it grew together with the cities of Itajaí and Navegantes and how it relates to other activities. We talked to the people who work and manage this Complex.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The RUMO Project is a mitigation measure required by Federal Environmental Licensing, conducted by IBAMA, for the production of oil from the Baúna Field, located in the Santos Basin, under the responsibility of the Australian company Karoon Energy.
