If you insist on using that straight pin, put a flat washer on to protect the key from wear and snapping as easily. Used them for years in the fields with farm equipment.

Using pipe wrenches on bolts and nuts is a good way to chew them up. So stop being cheap and by the appropriate wrench or socket, and torque them to the correct spec.

Exactly 1 week ago I had to switch my tow vehicle in the middle of the freeway and i unfortunately didn't have any tools with me so I had to undo my hitch-ball by hand!!!! (Had to flip the hitch-ball for the new tow vehicle) Needless to say my hands were sore after about half an hour but luckily I got the job done. Took 4 hours to get home!!! XD

I have a range runner with the max coupler. Came back from my first camping trip, and had a hard time pulling out the pin. Tried to lift or lower it with the jack, no dice. Possibly because my trailer was on a little lower ground than my Jeep. Had to wiggle the arm up and down while pulling it out, took a lot of effort. Have you ever had this issue?
@BubbasgarageTv Жыл бұрын
wow thats crazy. Never experienced that before. I guess depending on the two being level and all. Hmm. this does remind me I probably should go out and grease mine up. But in all honesty its been performing really well.
@JKUadventures Жыл бұрын
@@BubbasgarageTv I'm pretty sure it was because the RR was on gravel, while my jeep was on pavement. The uneven gravel made the trailer tilt a bit so I had a real hard tome taking it off the jeep. Thanks for your reply though.

So, if going to pick up a Venturist, all you'd need is the ball mount? The rest comes with the rig?

Really enjoyed the video. We’re scheduled to pick up our venturist the first week of Oct. Do you have a lift kit on your Jeep? My understanding is the level hitch height for the venturist is 24”. We have a stock JKU so it looks like we will need to use a 3 or 4” riser to tow the trailer level? Are you able to open the back door with the trailer attached?
@BubbasgarageTv3 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks a bunch, great questions. We sure do. We are running the AEV 2.5 Dual Sport xt. You are able to open the door fully with the venturist fully attached but need to be sure not to be at too much of an angle or it will not fully open. The manufacture does offer a longer extension as well if needed but that also will change how much load you have on the rear of the Jeep. Hope this helps and congratulations you will love it :)
