This was a fun episode! You mentioned Gilmore Girls. The town in the show , Stars Hollow, is based on Washington, Connecticut. There is a yarn shop called Stars Hollow Yarns. It is quite possibly the most perfect yarn store I have ever been in. From the yarn selection to the building itself, it's beautiful.

Another lovely episode, as always. I always feel like a good friend is just chatting away telling me what she made that week. As to whom I would love to sit and knit with, I really wish I could knit with my mother again. She taught me how to knit when I was 7, and up until the age of 13 or so we would sit under a tree during the summers and knit away together. And then I became too cool to hang out with her and we never really knit together again. I grew up, got married, had 4 gorgeous daughters, and realized I never was cool in the first place and these days get my kicks from sitting and knitting (and a bit of whisky on the weekends). My mom passed away 14 years ago and now I wish I had gotten over myself a lot quicker and knit with her more.

Hi Ruth. I voted the long videos because I thoroughly enjoy knitting with the wonderful KZbin bloggers I subscribe to, like yourself. But on occasion I’m so lucky enough to get to spend time with my lovely daughter, who works in a yarn shop, and lives and breaths knitting, herself. An hour with my favourite KZbin bloggers is the best way to spend my evenings knitting, but a day spent with my daughter, knitting and chatting is sheer bliss! Cheers, Jen xx

I would love to knit with my Grandma. She was a homemaker, Baker, knitter and everything else besides, but she was born in 1898 and this was expected of her. She brought up her eight younger siblings as her mother died shortly after the last was born. It was a hard life, no mod cons of course. She dreamt of being a nurse but wasn’t allowed as she was needed at home. She’s been dead nearly 40 years now, but I still remember wearing her knitted cardigans and jumpers to school.

What a joy it was to sit and listen and watch along with you while working on my cowl project. I hear you with the hormonal brain fog... it’s very frustrating and I find it upsetting and definitely shakes my confidence. I have to remind myself that it’s part of this ‘season’ of my life. I’m so glad you went right for your happy shawl place. I would like to sit and knit with Gerard Butler (but I don’t think he knits 😆) He could just sit there and I could hang out with him while I knit. Haha. My husband’s Gran was a master knitter and she gave me her needles and pattern books before she passed. Dear Ruth! Don't be so hard on yourself! You know this season of life will pass and I promise you, life on the other side of menopause is so much better! Just think how good menopause is for your prayer life! And the prayer life of those around you 🙂🙃😉

I would love to sit with my grandmother and mother, but not to knit, but to crochet. (I taught myself to knit.) I never got to see my grandmother crochet because the year I was born she had a large stroke and never was able to crochet again, but I was lucky to get all of her very intricate lace doilies and such. With my mother, I remember her always sitting in "her chair" after dinner crocheting away. She made all types of things from clothing to house hold items, and jewelery. Unfortunately, I lost her 35 years ago and what I wouldn't give to sit with her again.

I would love to knit with my Grandma who taught me to knit, my Mum and my sister. None of them would believe the internet and You Tube...and all those lovely patterns and yarns we now have available to us.xx

I would love to sit with my grandmother and knit. She made beautiful hand knits. But anyone who can sit and chat is wonderful.

I love your podcasts. You often make me smile and I have to admit I talk back to you! I would love to knit with my Nan and her sister. They fought (good natured) and were hilarious. Thank you for not following up on never knitting again! 😂

I would love to sit and knit with my Granma. She tried to teach me when I was little, but I couldn’t wrap my head around it. I finally worked it out 5 years ago after having my youngest. I’d love to show her how I’m doing now, but she passed over 10 years ago.

I enjoyed your podcast after a visit to the dentist 😏. My mother wasn’t a knitter, but she was 47 when she died. She would be 86 now and it comforts me to imagine her living in my home and, perhaps, quietly knitting alongside of me. I do enjoy a longer podcast so I can settle-in for a nice rest and knit. I’m currently knitting a “Mindfulness” shawl with the yarn I won from the Gansey Motif KAL with the Albanach Knitter. Guess what. It’s yellow 🌼🧶

I would love to sit and knit with my mom. she did not knit but she had me doing every craft imaginable. For Christmas every year when I was young I got some kind of craft. Crochet kits, sand art, decoupage, etc....LOL She has been gone for 30 years and I would love to see her again.

I would love to sit and knit again with my Mom. She taught me to knit and would patiently fix my mistakes. In the the latter years of her life, her vision became bad and it was I, who was helping her with her mistakes.
