Im just learning about wine and I’n having a glass of Prosecco while I watch tonight. Love the latest sweater. The lace detail is so unique. I just finished a pair of Jo’s slippers. Mine look so weird until I put them on. Super skinny - but they fit ok. That pattern was how I got my sister to try socks. I tried the smaller needle trick before and it worked like a charm. I love looking at the yarn kits and everyones makes for the West MKAL but I won’t be going there. Too much knitting too fast and not practical for me to wear. Enjoy the fiber show!! 🧶🦙💕🐑🧶

Enjoyed this episode and your Zeva is stunning. I’ve now added that to my wish list and since I live in Ecuador where heavy sweaters really aren’t needed, especially by me since I have my own built in heater, thanks menopause I can’t knit summer garments year round. I am doing the Stephen West MKAL, this will be my 3rd year, and like you I don’t wear shawls but another friend is joining for the first time this year so I’m doing it again and honestly they decorate the back of my knitting chair in the spare room. Enjoy the PEI fiber festival.

Thanks Sharon! I can definitely see knitting another Zeva..the fit is really good. Stephen West is addictive. I loved doing Dotted Rays and Vertices Unite as well. If I can find yarn in my stash, I may dive in...I am still undecided. That will be fun having a knit along with your friend!!

Really enjoyed the new episode. I’m passing on the West MKAL - I find his shawls too large (I’m a granny-over-the-shoulder type too) and I wouldn’t have the yarn in my stash to pull off a 5-skein shawl. The shawl did look beautiful on you with your yellow top. Enjoy your time at PEI. Until the next time. Salam wa sa’aadah

I’m a BEGINNER spinner with a EE6.0 wheel and I’ve never had lessons-just watching podcasts! Your spins are lovely and all I can manage is huge overspun knots! It all looks so easy and my drafting is horrible-! Do you have any tips for me? I’m am soooo frustrated!

Hi Angela...that sounds terrible! I am fairly new as well and I learned on a treadle wheel, but some of the best tips that I got from my instructor and from spinning friends. Grab some unloved yarn from your stash and "spin" that on to your wheel. It will help you figure out the speed controls and the take up (how fast your yarn goes on to the wheel) , so it isn't too fast or too slow. Pre-drafting is really important especially when you are getting the feel for the hand movements. Are you on the Facebook group for the Electric Eel Wheel? The link is here. There are lots of spinners with different experience levels who can help and recommend KZbin videos. It is a great group. facebook.com/groups/ElectricEelWheel Also this KZbin channel...she has Eel Wheels, but also covers basic spinning techniques. kzbin.info/door/j_XR_gZRlvK_zuG7W3hTIw I hope that helps. Cheers...Nancy

@@knitsiphappy Thanks so much for your help! I need drafting lessons as I cannot get my draft to go into the orifice before it gets so spun that it’s a glob! It all looks so easy and I want to spin fingering weight and all I get is a mess. I need lessons and will simply have to find someone! Do you think it’s more difficult to learn on an electric wheel or easier to learn on a wheel? I’m on the FB videos etc. thanks so much for your response. Hugs from Virginia!

Please recommend a beginner Colorwork project and pattern and yarn and any Colorwork tips you think would be helpful. Thanks in advance

The Every Which Way Cowl that I am knitting now would be a great option. DK yarn and you don't have to carry floats. The best tip that I ever heard for colourwork was to stretch the stitches out on your right hand needle, so you don't pull your yarn to tight and your floats can float and not pucker your work. I love KZbin videos and if you did a quick search you will find lots of knitters showing their methods and tips. Good luck and let me know how you make out!

Hi! I would recommend checking your local yarn store. If you don't have one, just Google it and you will get plastic or metal ones like mine or fancy laser cut wooden ones. There are so many options!

Why not make shawls in acrylic yarn so you can give them away and not worry about how people wash them

Thanks for watching Jackie❣️ It's not just the caring of a shawl...it's how to wear it. Non knitters see shawls and think granny over the shoulder style. I've discovered over the years that cowls are just easier gifts 🎁 😄

You don’t need another huge Stephen West shawl. Five skeins! Isn’t that going to be huge too. All his stuff is sooo oversized. And that doodler has a circus tent vibe too. I vote you skip it.
