Hello from Jonesborough TN. I recently finished a shawl for a friend’s M-I-L. Her husband was in the ICU and I knew from my experience staying with my mom in the ICU that it can get cold. So, I thought a shawl would be a way to let her know that someone was thinking of her and it could keep her warm as well. Sadly, her husband died before the shawl was completed. When I was able to get it to her she was very surprised and I think it was a comfort to know that I had been thinking of her during a very difficult time. I enjoy all the variety in your videos.

I don't really have a solution to sweaters choking in the front, but I always am careful when selecting a pattern to make sure that the neck/collar looks like it would be comfortable. I look at a lot of the projects for that pattern, which is why I feel it's so important for knitters to post photos of themselves wearing the garment - to give a larger representation of the finished product on a human being, and not in a flat lay or on a mannequin. I love your podcast, and love that you talk about so many Canadian designers and dyers, with me being Canadian! 😊💗
@KnittingUpNorthwithJennCorrina5 ай бұрын
That is an excellent point! Projects with photos really do help potential makers of the pattern better see how it fits different body types! Great reminder...thank you! Yes, Canada makers...what can we say? We have a thing for them! We appreciate you watching!

You two have such a special friendship! I really enjoy how positive and supportive you are of each other. After thirty years of not knitting anything, I finished my first shawl for my sister's birthday. It wasn't perfect, but I finished it and sent it to her. So much has changed in thirty years. All that I had when I learned to knit were the long straight needles and my mother taught me to hold the needle under my arm (I think I was about 7 years old). After that, I had to teach myself how to knit from old books and I learned how to throw. Now because of all the wonderful KZbin tutorials, I am learning how to knit continental style. Moral of the story...you can teach an old dog new tricks. 58 years old and knitting my husband a nice vest for church. Hope it turns out! Thank you for your podcast, it inspires me to be a better knitter!

Always enjoy Midwestern friends! My knitting time is about 2/3rd charity- NICU and Mayo chemo hats and shawl s, and a sweater on the needles for me too. I knit every day for several hours at least, but usually more. Thanks😊

I love to sit and knit with you two. Love hearing you chat. I grew up in MN so was excited to hear that's where you are! My in-laws lived in Bemidji for awhile so I've been there and have seen Paul and Babe. I love, love northern MN and wish I could retire there. Your fish house story in a previous podcast was cute. (Also, my son is named Micah so it was fun to hear that name. You don't hear it very often!) Keep making your enjoyable podcasts! Love them!

Beautiful cardigans ladies! I think your podcast is fantastic and would not change anything, including the TMI. I love tangents 😊I just got back from Knit City in Toronto, and we had a blast! I got to meet Nancy Wheeler too, and purchase some sock marbles for her patterns. Have a fantastic week! 💓

Great podcast! I really need the Paul and Babe stitch markers. Every single summer when we went to Bemidji we would get our pictures taken with Paul and Babe. Did you get those at the Yarn Cabin?

Thank you for another great episode ladies! I am so happy and grateful that you decided to do this! While watching this episode, I was, still am and will be for a long while..., working on the Zeva tee by Fogbound Knits. As always, thanks for sharing your future knitting plans. I always love the patterns you choose!

@@KnittingUpNorthwithJennCorrina I’m using Hue Loco sock yarn in the Elm color way. I think the color is gorgeous and I really like knitting with the yarn even though it’s sock weight and seems like it’s taking forever.

Love your podcast- inspires me to try new things. I covered my dog Prim’s eyes when you showed the dog cake pop yarn. It’s her birthday in a week and she will be lucky if I remember to give her a special treat (not that she isn’t a very indulged doggo). Have mainly been knitting socks for birthday gifts for family and friends, but did finish my Ankers Summer Tee in Berroco Sesame and just love it. I think I will add some short rows in my next one to bring up the neck at the back. I saw a tutorial about adding them on the increase non- rib sections. Knitpicks Wonderfluff Ombré just arrived and I plan to knit my daughter the new Paloma Cardigan by Melissa Clulow, as shown in Laine Magazine for her 50th birthday (yikes, that makes me feel very old).

Hi Jenn and Corrina 😊 . I love watching your podcast, I’ve watched it since episode 1. I love the different projects whether knitting or crocheting as I do both. I also love the yarns shown. I’m currently working on the Korshavun Sweater and a pair of Shorty Heel Tab socks. I look forward to your next podcast. Thanks for an enjoyable time.

Thank you Corrina and Jenn, another enjoyable podcast : ) you keep me in good company while I knit. Love that you talked about adapting patterns to fit our specific selves so the finished garment will be something we love to wear. Knitting patterns do not have to be set in stone, we can change them up. Short rows can make all the difference with the way a neckline - and a hem - lay. I agree with the suggestion that you post pics of garments after you start to talk about them instead of before, just for easy reference. Love the footage of the Yarn Cabin, I'll be there in July to visit, it looks like great space. I used to live in Bemidji, love all the references, Paul and Babe, the lake, etc. I also appreciate that you cite other makes, dyers, designers, people in the industry and share their work and contact info. Missed you at the Shepherd's Harvest, maybe another year you'll get there. Best to you both!

I really enjoy your podcast and your honesty about privilege. I love that Corrina admits to not being able to knit every day. I’m currently working on socks from the Woolens and Nosh mystery sock club, my second ever gnome and a Radvent cardigan. Trying to clear these three off my needles before all the summer KALs start up including your advent challenge. I want to make the Anthology throw with my unused 2024 Camijo set. I’m a Wisconsinite by birth but now live is south Texas so am very selective about garment making.

Good morning you two! We are having a long weekend off here in Germany and I am enjoying this Monday morning in my garden with some morning sun, a cup of coffee and my cardigan knitting and your lovely knitting talk. The issue with the time shift between photos and videos in this podcast has already been brought up. But I don’t mind oopsies like this at all. We are all no professionals in this and it is for the fun, right? I’m already looking forward to your next episode. Happy knitting until then, Claudia 😘
