Episode 5: Using a Pullmax to bead the toe boards

I'm building customized 1956 Studebaker pickup, inspired by the R&C Dream Truck.
In this episode I take care of a bunch of little details around building the firewall, engine recess and toe boards. In particular, I explain my process for installing the beads in 16 gauge steel using a Pullmax and dies from www.toolsforsh.... I also install a high beam switch using a cool bracket from ‪@HammerFabOfficial‬ (hammerfab.com/).

Joe - Wow - those beads came out great! 16-gauge steel is often a bear to work with, but those dies seemed to power through it with no problem. Clever idea to use steel angle as both a stop, and as a strengthening bar to keep the panel flat.

Is that a P2? Does it handle 16ga. I’m just curious because I have one and haven’t used it yet. I was hoping I didn’t buy too small of one. Thanks for your video.

Mine is a P3, 16mm tool shank. It’s the smallest model, handles 16 ga Crs without breaking a sweat.

Man, you’re good. I should just throw my tools away. 😂. Very cool project. Wondering if you could “go deep” on sectioning the cab and doors. In particular how you decided where to cut/join. How did you keep the cab stable while you cut it apart? I was also wondering how you sectioned the cowl to accept a sectioned hood.

thanks for the kind words! I started trying to explain the sectioning and realized I couldn’t do it justice with just words. I will see if I can make a video on that, great suggestion.
