Welcome to the brotherhood. I got my 2018 in 2019, used. It had 2371 miles on it when I got it. I rode yesterday, and watched it roll over 45k miles. Miles of smiles, and 12 sets of tires later. I have had to do nothing but change the tires, change the oil, and buy gas. The most fun I have ever had on a motorcycle.

Enjoyed your video Jedz. I have had an 09 since 2009, have 72,000 miles on it and it is running strong with no signs of quitting. The thrill doesn't go away. The thing i enjoy the most is the power on from low rpm up. Great for passing. It puts you in the gap. I describe it to people as the safest bike ive ever ridden. Its the kind of bike that people feel the need to tell you to be careful. Like it's something you never considered previously. My response to that is "hell no! Go fast - take chances". Usually stops the stupid statements. The reality is (rider stupidity excluded) a surplus of instant power and the stability the vmax provides does make it a very safe bike for every day riding. Thanks for the video and enjoy!

The end of the icon and I’m glad to be a part of the VMax family. I’ve rode nearly 4,000 miles on my 2020 since August and absolutely love cruising the back roads. I could care less about high speed but I do like acceleration.

I saw the Gadsden, seems we all are a specific type of guy that love these bikes.. I have had 3, a 95, an 01 and finally this year got a 12 which I have already spend close to 3k on..the engines on the first ones were bullet proof so I hope these are as well since I ride rough. My 01 had 58k miles on it after I sold it, hours dialing carbs in and syncing when i first bought it and put marks pipes but never had one issue really..have fun gen2s are damn near un beatable...I'll never sell my vmax but looking at superduke or rocket 3 to add to my fun..

I do love it. Zero learning curve with it because of my 35000 miles or so on gen ones. Exactly the same body placement. Except for my legs are wider because of the air scoops. That will take a little time to get used to. The bike is just so freaking wide.

Super cool bike! Wow! It makes me think about when Ford teamed up with Yamaha to build the v6 engine for the SHO and Yamaha applied the same kind of variable intake technology from the VMAX to the SHO and that little Ford V6 made 220 HP (that was a lot in '89 lol). You own a well made, proven, horsepower monster! And it looks amazing! Ride safe, neighbor!!

The only thing that sucks about my Vmax is exactly what you said, gas mileage. If it was able to get 150 miles per tank consistently I would be ok with it. The people that spend the time and money putting in the aftermarket tanks to gain 1.6 gallons are crazy. That job is insane. 100 miles per tank is not enough. I have an MT10 as well and its gas mileage sucks too but better than the Vmax. Other than the gas mileage there is no equal. It is heavy in the steering at stand still and very low speed but once it is moving it is an amazing handling bike and one of the most refined motorcycles I have owned. No electronics at all but I guess it is a true stoplight to stoplight bike.
@Jedz123
@Jedz123 3 жыл бұрын
I added the extended tank and under cruising conditions I'm seeing about 150-180 a tank with the larger fuel tank. It was allot of work but I would do it all over again, the bike is much better for long rides. Best,

@chrisvantassel8867
@chrisvantassel8867 Жыл бұрын
@@roy-sr5ct I find the MT10 plenty fast even compared to my SD Evo. The Max can be pushed way harder because it will not wheelie. It is much heavier but still pulls harder than the MT10. Make sure you have tire pressures at 42psi, makes a world of diff on handling with the Max

I love my T120, but I have to say that Yamaha has unquestionably produced the World's best line of bikes over the last 40-50 years. My '76 XS650 looks and runs like new with NO SIGNIFICANT REPAIRS in 43 years! My 39 year old '81 XV 920RH (V-twin cafe style Virago variant) is almost a match for my New T120 in handling and performance. The new Rocket III looks terrific, but as an agile torque-master I'm guessing the V-Max is more refined, lighter, reliable and at a far bette price point...New or Used.
@Jedz123

It's number one over Honda for reliability for a reason. I absolutely love Yamaha's and this one has been a dream bike of mine for a while now!! I love the new rocket 3 however after the first rough year with my T120 I'm hesitant to put $20K USD on a new Triumph... This Yamaha was well under $10K. As usual Yamaha delivers such bang for the buck! Thanks for tuning in! Those XS650 twins are great motorcycles... I see them running around still today!!! Best,
