Hello Melissa! Thank you so much for sharing your story. As someone who also suffers with anxiety and depression I totally relate to your story. When I started going to Jiu jitsu, I had major anxiety just getting ready and showing up to class for the first year. After a while I started to feel comfortable and it became my place of therapy. I went to school with Melissa and we were friends. She was a kick ass cheerleader, she was clearly the athlete rather than the show piece. It makes so much sense to me, her doing martial arts. It makes me sad hearing about all the hard times, I wish I would have known more cause I think we could have really been a good support for each other.

Been listening to all of these on Spotify so far, very cool to find out you have these with video on youtube. But please keep them on Spotify as well for when we're on the go :) for me personally, it's jiu jitsu that took me out of my depression and anxiety 5 years ago. I was literally on the edge of stepping out of this life but had to just give it a shot. Cycling back home from that first class, I had the biggest smile on my face ever. Since then, I have spoken to more and more people in the BJJ world that walked similar paths. Thank you for sharing your path with us.
