Two weeks hardening, lol, mine were lucky to get 24 hours outside in their solo cups. But it is mid-June, surprised they weren't moar rootbound though, seeded back in April.

Hey there! I am attempting to grow super hots and after killing every single seedlings from my original sow, I'm educating myself to avoid a repeat. My plants will be transplanted to our tilled bed...when is the best time to do this?

You need to harden the plants off, put them in a shaded area...gradually get them used to full sunlight. The sun, even on a cloudy day will be many times more powerful than your grow lights.

I don’t have a greenhouse! So, how do I harden off the plants? They have gotten quite tall. Not very useful since I don’t have a greenhouse! Thanks.

Very True I'am thinking best way for me is make raise beds an cover them with screens as TUNNELS a lots cheaper Then i might use a solar heat, that makes steam. and winter them in IDK YET just kicking it around < DEFINITELY BLOCK RAISE BEDS, AND A SCREEN TUNNEL, That way i can cover it with plastic sheeting and roll it up and down Possible chicken wire or some small mash screen Then i can set here click a button roll it up and down lmao

Lets say you have leaf burn on some plants. Can I still leave the plants outside, pull the burnt leaves off, and hopes new leaves grow?
@ChilliChump
@ChilliChump 4 жыл бұрын
If you can see some new growth coming through already, then yes, you can remove old leaves

Hi, thanks for the video. I live in Mexico, we have here temperatures of 30-40 Celsius in summer, i can get my chilies Peppers taking half to complete sun, but the question its, can i take them outside from all the stages? Like it recently germinated and i can get them outside taking the direct sun and temperatures in range from 21~30 C. ( This months) Is there Will be a y problem of doing this? Thank you!
@ChilliChump
@ChilliChump 5 жыл бұрын
No problem with having them outside at all stages with temperatures like that. At the early stages though I would suggest keeping them shaded, and well watered!

I see you're getting your peppers out very early. What's the minimum temperature you experienced that your plants bared and survived?
@ChilliChump
@ChilliChump 6 жыл бұрын
As long as there isn't frost then they survive...if you get a single frost on the soil itself that could kill the plant, they are very sensitive to it. But temperatures in the low single digits (Celsius) should be ok...they won't thrive, but they should live.

I have pepper plants being hardened off, but the weather is not cooperating. We had significant sun the first 2 days I put them out, when it was only 2-4 hours. Every day since then it has been cloudy with highs in the 60s. Tomorrow will make a week of hardening off, but two days later the weather is expected to go full sun with highs in the upper 80s. I would plant them on Monday, but I am worried they will sunburn from the full sun afterward. From Tuesday on it is expected to be full sun with highs in the 80s. What would be the best time to plant them outside?

I’m currently planting some italian sweet peppers and jalapenos, i wonder if the method for all peppers are similar? Also i tried to grow some red peter but it’s a failure, i think when i was planting it, it was still too cold in Japan 😢
@ChilliChump
@ChilliChump 6 жыл бұрын
The basics are the same for all peppers. There are some differences with certain superhot varieties and a couple other peppers...but that is typically around how long the season is for those plants (very long seasons!! So you have to start them really early). And you are right, peppers really don't like the cold!

Chillichump thanks for the reply! Right now it’s getting warmer, so i’ll try growing the red peter again soon :D hope this time I’ll succeed thanks for the videos too! It really helps :D

I know this isn't the soil video but I have soil from last year. Could I use the used soil still? Like mix it with new soil? Is there a good way to rejuvenate it? Trying to save on money. Thanks
@ChilliChump

You could mix in fresh compost. I would use at least 50% fresh.

@@ChilliChump thank you. I'll do that. Would I need to fertilize sooner by doing this or just fertilize about a month later and every two weeks after that?
@ChilliChump

I would supplement with a little diluted seaweed fertiliser earlier than usual.
