Yeaaars ago, a childhood friend of mine often invited me to sleep over whenever her mom worked night shifts, ALTHO her dad was always home. As kids, I never thought much of it. Later on, she became pregnant, and word was the baby’s father was an estranged man who wasn’t involved. Years went by, and when her daughter was around 8, it came out that her own father had been abusing her and was actually the baby’s father. (that’s when I realised why she always wanted me around). I don’t know if her mom knew. The dad was eventually imprisoned. Tragically, her mom passed away from cancer when her daughter was a teenager, and not long after, her daughter also died in a car accident as well. Strangely, every connection to her painful past has been erased, lonely as she was the only child. She’s since moved on, married, and is building a new life.

Happy someone finally points this out. 100 episodes ago, I had given constructive feedback on this issue since the podcast is evolving and basically one of the biggest platforms in Africa. I was bashed and told the Podcast is meant to have a ‘messy’ vibe and no need for perfection. But geez louis, I genuinely get lost every time Ghosty speaks. Yes, I get that English is not her mother tongue and people don’t want her to script read like a reporting style but if she can’t work on her articulation at least she can try and work on her delivery.
