This brought a lot of thouths. I am catholic and I received spirituality from this religion since my childhood. Regular practice and emphasy in this religon is sacrifice. Even put your body, sometimes your plans and desires, anything to sacrifice. The truth is that catholic relagion teaches that supernatural (spiritual higher self or you can name it any way) builds on the natural. Natural law , human law comes first. Even in philosophies where there are different levels of existence described, natural comes first: the phisical, the Body comes first. Also, many times I see in my religious community: many people look "up" let's say like this, look up to "God", wait for Heaven, and neglect the person in front, even themselves. True humanism without any aspects of spiritual, expresses more respect (compassion) to the human being than many times "belivers" in the spiritual in any way.

I remember my therapist asking me how my body feels in this moment and I didn’t really quite understand what she meant by that. I tend to be a very rational and logical person - so when she asked me …I honestly thought to myself “she’s able to visually see my body for herself… why is she asking this question?” And now I laugh at myself because I was just so disconnected from my body for so long - I truly had no idea how my body felt at all. With years of deep healing work with my therapist and also on my own- I have learned to listen to my body’s cues and how it feels. It’s my true north now! The body sure does hold the wisdom one needs to heal ❤

100% noticed this process in myself, non attachment was a way to dissociate and avoid, oneness lead to depersonalisation or enmeshment when not practiced in an embodied connected way. Until I started getting somatic pain to emotional activations, now using an embodied practice of tantra and somatic work has helped immensely

Jenna (and Dr. Nicole) I am so grateful for your honesty. I'm consistently bypassing the loss of both my brothers. I also had experience with grief, but my BODY took on the grief of my brothers. If I don't focus on my food, sleep, fun, community & creativity (also REST & Meditation) I fall completely off track. I just fell off for 3 days my body went through sooo much. This came exactly when I had a flare and disconnected. I don't think that's an accident. Doing breath work tonight! Thank you for reminding me I am not alone.

Same with me in the past However, I got psychotic!! Slam!! When I was trying to get rid of it all those around me didn’t recognise what was happening! Refused to allow Me to “dump” the junk!! I do and I help others dump their junk helping people find their ways.. it’s so good to see people your ages to really be in this place! It’s almost hippy!! Thank You!! ❤❤

Hello and luv you both so much and the work you do has been a game changer for me and your podcasts nudge me to keep going. I was a little lost with this episode except that I recently listened to a podcast with Ilene Smith and somatic experienceing and was likening what you were saying to that, which helped me kind of get what you were saying? I think? Sometimes (often) I go back to listen a few days later once some of what you said has processed where I'm then I'm ready for more. Thank you both incredible women and I have bought the book can't wait.

Yah yah i am excited that means I will get my book soon I am hopping. I never really understood when people talk about spirituality none the less spiritual by passing other then going to church so giving love and compassion to myself is a form of spirituality? thank you I have been wanting to understand a little more the other ways of expressing spirituality + by passing never thought there was such a thing.

i wonder why we always call it spiritual bypassing when sometimes it's really just emotional bypassing [i.e. not using anything "spiritual" per se]
