I didn't grow up around hunting as a kid but my wife did and she used to tell me how they would love to go to the check in stations. You could see everybody's deer and hang out. It was the thing to do especially in small towns

When I started hunting at 12 years old in 2001 here in a small town in Pennsylvania, the schools used to close for the first 2 days of deer rifle season AND we used to take our bucks into the local paper where they would take photos of what the locals had shot and at the end of the season, the would put a special section in the paper with all the bucks that were taken that year. The good ole days. I still have the paper clipping of my spike buck I got opening day in 2001

What u guys call rivers(I watch all of your vids!), we call creeks here in Pa. About 30-50 yds wide, MAYBE chest deep. Our 'rivers' are at least 100 yards wide, maybe 8 ft deep, in the lowest section, during a drought.

I used to see a group of 5 white deer while driving in Jefferson County, I've moved since then but I'm sure a few are still around

We have to do it with bear here in PA it is fun. Deer would be tough though season too long.

I shot my biggest buck this year a 9pt that grossed 144⅝. Which in my area of northeast Texas is pretty big. Sent the teeth off he came back as a 6½ yr old.
