Absolutely! I started back solo hunting last year. Ditched the cameras during season. Only hunt mobile etc. trying not to loose that edge. Good speak brother !

It’s a legitimate concern, but ultimately, hunting is what you make of it. It’s not a competition, so fair has nothing to do with it. Hunt the way you want.

Public land doesn't matter go in there in June or July or August and start looking around. Those beds won't be the same near October and later though typically. Gotta find food water and transitions of habitat and when the tags are filled or the seasons ended go scout snow too and early early spring before the vegetation gets to thick. I have cameras hung in summer bedding areas right now on public land hoping they didn't get stolen because I want to see who's in the neighborhood. I'll pull the cameras some time after I fill my tags or around January and review the footage. Public land is wonderful because if you do blow it out it's like oh well next spot.

Josh should look up Dr petter attia MD. Just to listen to some of his stuff. Very, very smart individual. I checked to see if he has anything on this gut health stuff your friend is discussing here and he does. I’m going to listen to that. He’s primarily discussed a lot of heart based stuff for prolonging life among other things surrounding prolonging life. Josh, he also has a podcast he did with John Dudley on broadhead lethality I think you may find interesting. It’s on John Dudley’s channel somewhere. That’s where I learned of petter attia first. He’s a very smart man. He is ‘I have to look up words I don’t know the meaning of at times’ smart. Mostly medical terminology.

Also, there are way more people talking about this than you know, but the hunting show people and hunting industry people won't touch it, because they're all making $ of it. They're not really promoting hunting they're all promoting their products.
@michaelcope232910 сағат бұрын
This is nothing new, I quit QDMA about 20 years ago. They had a magazine they put out and they ran an article about this guy who had his whole farm covered in cameras and was plugging the data into his lap top and making a map of deer movement on his property to they could kill more bucks. I sent them a letter explaining that wasn't hunting and dropped my membership. I'm blessed and own land to hunt on, we don't run cameras anymore, bucks start avoiding areas with camera traps set up, and I'm not running cameras that upload pics to my phone, this is ridicules. Its a matter of time before someone, if they haven't already start using thermal drones to find where bucks are bedded and sneak em. None of this hunting just like live scope isn't fishing. Great show btw

@tonyellis638312 сағат бұрын
I agree. So i always do my best to stay out of this stuff, but I'm starting to see it more. Tech, camera's, all these maps showing top places is changing how people get into hunting. Instead of getting a bow and practice practice practice. Now, you can pick up a crossbow and a cell camera and they have been taught this is how you start, companies making big money market this i feel like. Zero issues with crossbows, especially experienced hunters, but it has opened up the door for skipping some understanding steps for beginners. We need to somehow help these people be better woodsman, which in return will help protect hunting. i'm trying to stay out of the weeds here, sorry. Yes, technology is, in my opinion, going to far. When camera's came out, It use to be experienced hunters with years of experience getting pictures and it was fun. But now we have a new wave of fresh individuals believing this is what you have to have (apps, camera's) to start hunting and i'm afraid of what this will do in the long run, habitat, etc. Were skipping steps that were not use to seeing and it is making it uncomfortable for us experienced ones.

Great show as always! We forget why we Hunt! To be honest the problem is in today's lifestyle. Everything FAST and QUICK! Come on so I can be entertained and go do something else. Why do I hunt? Challege and Tradition! My best memories were hunting with my dad and uncle where all we had was a piece of pepperoni in our pocket for the day for lunch. Being one with the woods.......Thats how you develop intuition!!!!
@craufurdgoodwin383513 сағат бұрын
Intuition is smothered by the ability to rely on something else that traditionally, we’re supposed to use our brains to accomplish. Bud, I’m gonna say it again. Your niche in the world of You Tube hunting channels should be to show us that we can in fact hone our own skills using nothing else that what nature offers up. Throw the battery operated hunting tools in the pond and be 100% responsible for your successes and failures which ultimately will separate you from the now and boringly predictable tech hunter craze. Your recent video of you prepping and shooting your longbow….and loving it, shows you’ve got it in your heart. Besides, the snap of a longbow string is beautiful music :) All the best and I’m rooting for you!

Saddle hunting in the field I have the multitool saw or a very small Outdoor Edge Saw. I will not be dropping 1-2” branches as I hang and hunt mobile making a racket. For setting up hang on stands on private that I leave for the season I have enjoyed a compact Silky or Bahco saw I use for camping and yard work

@@beforetheecho Nighteyes HL08 Red is an incredible light. I never would have spent $140 on a headlight until I walked the woods with someone who had one and I ordered mine the next day. You need to head to the North East and check out what the big woods bucks guys "hal blood" are all about, tracking is a true 1 on 1 chess match that will set you on fire when you connect... Michigan used to be really good for tracking until the state made so many damn trail systems that made access to anyone every 1/4-1/2 mile in some places so the tracks I find here are almost always made at night so the trails make it easier to find the freshest track, but then I have to navigate around 10-15 other hunters and try to stay on the track that are mostly stand hunters and they have no idea what I'm doing they just think I'm out tromping around the woods. I just tell them when they ask, what are you doing? I'm chasing down fire.... If ya know ya know.
