One of the most gross Atari games. Yes. If I recall correctly, they basically had to sell a cartridge to every single 2600 owner to make any money and of course after word of mouth got around that wasn’t going to happen. I think the crash was inevitable prior to this.

I remember the music so well. Certainly not the best game, but 1 of the worst ever? Not sure about that as there have been some EXTREMELY bad ones over the year. Looking back now it looks dull, but have to remember it was the warly years of video games. Think its more nostalgia than anything. Great video. I’ve always gone with the hype of it being the worst ever. But I’ve changed my feeling a bit recently. I read an article once where someone said the constant falling into pits was a coding error that can be easily fixed. Honestly, also, after watching multiple gameplay videos I think it may be a little misunderstood and just a complicated game. 🤷🏼‍♂️. Anyway great job with the review. Thanks for sharing. Be well. 🤙

Dude I owned this game. And I played it I was young but did not like it that much. In actuality it’s funny that I grew up to be a gamer cause if this was my first memory of gaming then dang it’s bad. And thank goodness gaming came back strong with the nes

Read the instructions completely. Once I did that a lot of the started making sense to me and the game was actually fun! People who didn’t read the instructions had all the problems. As far as this game was the reason for the video game crash, come on now it was the plethora of cheap poorly made games that flooded the market. Computer games did not have a crash. Saying one game caused the crash is very short sighted. ET is a decent games as long as you know how to play it!

ET isnt and never was bad until the retro gatekeepers and then parrots came out... you need to RTFM, then you're good... I can point out AT LEAST 100 Atari games that are "worse" and less fun to play than this one.
