I think that 30 meters should mean 30 meters. Not just splash resistant. I just like having the piece of mind knowing that If my watch gets wet, it is going to be ok. I have a Rolex Datejust, however I won't swim or shower with it. I just like knowing that it is going to be ok if I get caught in a rainstorm or thrown into a pool at a backyard BBQ. I think added water resistance should be minimal cost to a watch maker. Also, I like to wash my watches under the tap an not worry about them getting damaged. Also, Mike, I hear you on lume. Not sure what the deal is with lume. Timex with Indiglo (when I need it) has served me well on my camping trips,
