Episode 8: Audi R8 Road trip driving through the Verdon Gorge in France.

I've purchased an Audi R8 V10 Manual Spyder in the United Kingdom, I've had some work done on the car by Audi specialist Ricky of RE Performance and my wife and I are spending 30 days traveling through Europe - mostly France and Italy in the car.
Its challenging because there is only about 110 Litres of storage in the frunk of the car which heats up to temperatures above 60C when you're driving, but I've always wanted to drive this car, my dream car, around the amazing European roads - especially the twisty roads in the French Alps.
In this episode we travel from La Spezia to the medieval town of Eze in France, and then on to Lorgues where we check out an Aussie coffee roaster and then travel through the spectacular Verdon Gorge to Château-Arnoux where the Lavender festival is in full swing as the harvest season comes to an end.

note at 1M30S there is an error on the map, we actually went from Grenoble to Gap via Veynes so didn't actually back track as the google map shows. #drivetheworld

As another Chch local im enjoying watching these episodes. I’d prefer to be travelling like you are then dealing with our constant rain haha.

Its ok, all us in Chch know what slow tunnels are like I.e Littleton tunnel. It is a great one for broom broom noises though 😁

I’ve been up the Gorge. Just stunning. I’m also a longtime TomTom user. I’ve found their iPhone app really accurate over the years especially where there is dodgy mobile coverage.

Yeah it’s made by Tom Tom but it’s not a gps it links to an app and tracks your driving which is useful. I find google maps super reliable here especially for showing upcoming traffic jams and road closures .
