thank you for posting, for some reason there is little info on youtube plant community about this cute plant so i'm happy to learn from you ! i have killed 2 aptenias and now i understand that its because overwatering!

I believe these have a shorter life span. Many times they are actually considered annuals. The one I had here started dying back in fall. I bought another one for super cheap at menards recently. I think the key to these is to propagate. I was trying to look and see the average lifespan on these but didn’t find much. I need to try to propagate the new one I bought-when it gets a little bigger. Thank you for watching!!!

Oh an update on the propagation from these ones in this video-these ones were not very successful. I will have to do another video eventually on best propagation method for these

I have one and it winter here in Kansas it stays pretty cool in my house. What do i do to keep it alive its kinda limp not strong like it was its still alive though😔 Help please!!!!!! she was so pretty this summer outside

I have noticed they tend to die in winter even when bring them indoors. It likes a lot of light and warmer “summer like” conditions. Less watering during winter. I am in Missouri-so pretty similar to yours. Vivosun T5 grow light would work really well to keep them alive. Got mine on amazon-I really like it.
