According to Gerald Undone's review, the whole 50% power thing has to do with the battery voltage. 14v batteries will only run at 50%, but 26v and 28v batteries can run it at full power.

Just a note that the 50% output limitation on v-locks only applies to standard 14.4V v-locks (and standard draw 26V and 28.8V batts). If using compatible high draw 26V or 28.8V v-locks (18A and 16A respectively) or a decent 48V block battery it'll give you the option for full output in a future firmware unlock. Glad I'm not the only one who's yelled 'Aziz light' on set. 😅

@@osoriony I've not had a chance to test any high discharge v-locks with it yet (as I don't currently have any to hand), but in theory something like two Dynacore DHB-200s would be sufficient (you *will* need two). No guarantees though - I would not recommend purchasing based on specs alone. Not until tested or Aputure release a list of batteries they deem compatible. My advice is to give it a couple of weeks and see what the general consensus is for recommendations. Edit: So after some testing it turns out Aputure have the option for 100% output on compatible v-locks disabled on the current firmware - confirmed by Aputure themselves. This does make some sense given availability of sufficient draw batteries is slim to none currently (though in terms of specs the aforementioned Dynacores should be capable).

@@GripTips Glass and even composite can be tricky with big temperature changes. I have the small fresnel, which is great, but its more like an intensifier that I use for directing the light than an old school fresnel. I sold my 10inch old school fresnel the day I first saw the Aputure 10inch. Pretty please could you try the Aputure 10inch on a 300D II if you review it. As I will probably wait on the 600d non pro because I am a poor little indie. I would buy the F10 the day it comes out though, with the barn doors, if it will fit on my 300d II.

hi ... can you tell me what battery are you using ? i need something to go outside and still go 100% with it. i heard that if you have only 1 battery you can go only 50% and for 100% you need 2 batterys and extremely big ones ... maybe you can help me out . wisch you a nice day. i even bought the 600d based on your video haha .
