Hi Gav. Absolutely loved your series of videos. The VDLP is such an overlooked Camino (which perhaps is a good thing) and one that I think gives a far more authentic experience of rural Spain than the French route. Loved your dry Ozzie wit which really added to the fun. Got to love those whipper snippers! On a trip of that length you have really think about pack weight. I carried too much and unfortunately developed stress fractures in two toes about a day south of Salamanca. With the aid of some good Spanish pain meds, I managed to compete the walk but it was tough at times. Having said that, we’d walk it again in a heartbeat! Looking forward to your next installment.

Thanks Ruby, Yes, I think the Via de la Plata is special because there aren't anywhere near as many walkers, and in an odd way, I hope it stays that way for walkers who like a bit more tranquillity and time on their own. I agree totally regarding pack weight - those fractures sound painful. I tried really hard to keep my pack weight to a minimum. The reality is that you can always acquire things in the towns you pass through. I purchased a pair of thongs on my first night in a $2 dollar/variety shop. I looked up the Spanish word for thongs on the phone, however the Chinese/Spanish woman in the shop thought I was wanting to purchase a G-string! All part of the experience.... Cheers, Gav.

Seems my comments (with link to updated GPX files) are being blocked. At least, they don't appear here... Anyways, no big deal. Thanks for your vlogs! Very much appreciated!! I won't continue my walk to Finisterra, but nevertheless looking forward to see the final episode of this series.
